How do I upload my own avatar?

On the main menu, go to "Profile." Click on "Forum Profile Information" on the left menu. From there, you will be able to select an avatar from our avatar galleries, hotlink to one, or upload your own.

The maximum size for any avatar is 200 pixels wide by 300 pixels high. If you try to hotlink or upload any avatar bigger than this, the system will automatically resize it to fit it within the requirements.

Don't forget, after you select your avatar, you MUST scroll to the bottom and click "Change Profile" or else the avatar won't be saved.

How do I get that spinning gold star that can be found under peoples' names?

That gold star is for TPIR Alumni. Those are people that have actually been called to come on down and be a contestant.

If you are a member of Golden-Road.net and you were a contestant on TPIR, please contact the Tech Support Manager, RobertSearcy, via PM or the Technical Support Forum and inquire about it. You'll need to provide the date (or year, episode number, or any other useful info if you don't remember the exact date you were a contestant) your episode aired or taped (preferrably aired, but if you don't remember when it aired and you remember your tape date, that'll be fine).

How do I post HTML in forums where it's allowed?

You need to add
before and
after your complete HTML code.

Where is HTML allowed and who is allowed to use it?

Moderators of a particular forum automatically have HTML enabled.
Only Joe_Capitano is able to post HTML in First Run TPIR.
Anyone can use HTML in Retro TPIR.
Only Host Your Own show hosts can use HTML in Host Your Own.

I signed up for Golden-Road.net, but have yet to receive the activation email. What's wrong?

It could be one of two reasons:

1. You entered the wrong email address.
2. Your ISP is blocking emails from Golden-Road.net

If you entered the wrong email address, you simply need to sign up for a new account with a different email address and username. If your ISP is blocking emails from Golden-Road.net, you need to contact your ISP to see if they can fix the problem on their end. If they cannot or will not help you, you need to sign up for a new account with a different email address.

An ISP could be blocking Golden-Road.net's emails because the IP address of the server we're hosted on could be on some kind of spam "black list" through no fault of our own (previous owner of the IP address or another site hosted on the server we're hosted on).

Before doing any of the above, it is advisable, if you have any kind of access to a spam filter or folder, to check that to be sure it's not blocking emails from Golden-Road.net or emails aren't ending up in a folder exclusively for spam.

I went to change my email address and now I must reactivate my account. I have yet to receive the activation email. What do I do?

You should contact Marc, the site owner, at marc[AT]golden-road.net from the SAME “new” address with your username or contact your ISP and see if they can help you receive emails from Golden-Road.net
