How do I upload my own avatar?

On the main menu, go to "Profile." Click on "Forum Profile Information" on the left menu. From there, you will be able to select an avatar from our avatar galleries, hotlink to one, or upload your own.

The maximum size for any avatar is 300 pixels by 300 pixels. If you try to hotlink or upload any avatar bigger than this, the system will automatically resize it to fit it within the requirements.

Don't forget, after you select your avatar, you MUST scroll to the bottom and click "Change Profile" or else the avatar won't be saved.

How do I get that spinning gold star that can be found under peoples' names?

That gold star is for TPIR Alumni. Those are people that have actually been called to come on down and be a contestant.
