Clock Game is never gonna be won again outright (excluding technical wins) with this format they moved to. They oughta just swallow their pride and revert back to the 3 digit prizes and at least that way this game would be won fair and square (without technical wins!!) Clock doesn't need to go on hiatus, they ought just bring back the 3 digit prizes and keep the $1k bonus like it was. In fact they never should have messed with this game in the first place!
I don't believe this.  Clock Game can be won in its present format, but requires 2 changes that we've so far not seen.  1) Contestants not bidding ridiculously low amounts ($200?) and 2) Drew not getting himself so worked up and nervous that he makes mistakes, which then makes the contestant more nervous.  When the prize you win at the One-bid is worth more than the 2 prizes + the $1000 bonus, the game is no longer relevant or exciting.  We all know that in the prior format the last prize was always between $900 and $999, and frequently $999.  That doesn't make for interesting television.  And I half wonder if they were having real trouble finding interesting prizes for under $1000.  You almost can't buy a washer/dryer anymore for under $1000....

This isn't true.  Although as far as I can remember the second prize was always more expensive than the first, it wasn't always between $900 and $999.

Some specific examples:
December 1, 2008 - $899
July 2, 2008 - $849
January 31, 2008 - $813

Actually, it did seem like $999 was showing up surprisingly often over the last two or three years.

I think we have a flux capacitor shortage here.  The thread title should have been "FULL RECAP - TPiR 01/16/2009"

Amanda, you did great as a model, but since you're so cute, I think you should also take on another duty:  read prize plugs and call down contestants for a week.
