Overall, a good show today.  I DSW'd for SC1 today (by $84).  The positioning of the 2nd half was questionable, to say the least, but overall, I give today a B+.

Roo: I thought the ceramic phone would be the most expensive SP. I had no idea which one went with the car. Also nice to see Drew say something positive about the SPs.
Freeze: Boy, this is getting overplayed this year. It seems like the prizes in this game and Grocery Game should have been switched. I'm surprised they'd play a GP game for a catamaran.
LEU: Nice to see it again.
1RP: I would've won, but $4020 for luggage?!?! Wow.
Squeezy: Valid guess, but $6713 just sounded better.

Overall, showcases were fine. Just get rid of that lame prize recap. That looked like a much more expensive dining room in SC1.

Lineup: Yikes. Nothing ends the show like a 1RP/Squeeze Play combo. Terrible slotting. Didn't think we needed 3 quickies today. Seemed short short short. It seemed Mr. Sandler was turning a corner making these lineups, but today was one of the worst I've seen in a while.

Decent show altogether though.
Retired Games that should be brought back:
Barker's Bargain Bar, Buy or Sell, Superball!, Super Saver, Split Decision, Give or Keep, Hurdles, Penny Ante, Walk of Fame

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY: Elizabeth (the one that made it to the Showcase)
SHOW GRADE: 2

...and Alexander gets flattened by approximately two tons of people who should be in the audience and not making dogpiles.
I saw nothing wrong with this. The stage stormings near the turntable... I'll somewhat agree with you there, as it's too close to the host and things could get run into. But they were in the middle of the stage, so I don't think there was any harm in what they did.

The positioning of the 2nd half was questionable, to say the least...

Questionable isn't the best word for it, more like downright atrocious. The worst part is this isn't the first time we've seen 1RP and Squeeze Play back to back to end things this season, the last time it occured was a few weeks back with One Away being the 4th game. Even worse than this was the episode earlier in the year when Line 'Em Up once again showed up 4th only to be followed back to back by One Wrong Price and Double Prices AND not to mention that Coming or Going was played 2nd on that episode: Any Number and Grand Game were the other games on that monstrosity. Let's also not forget the lineup they gave us which consisted of Lucky 7; Grand Game; Pushover; Cover Up; Freeze Frame and Switch? from a few weeks back as well. This is a disturbing pattern in my opinion. I know Roger here and there ended episodes like this (i.e. an example from season 35: Money Game, Bonkers, Plinko, Stack the Deck, One Wrong Price and Double Prices) but not with this frequency and that's the difference; whereas Roger did it once or maybe twice a season; here we are and it seems like we've already seen this about 8 or 9 times this year.

I'm sick and tired of seeing the 2nd half full of filler. Are they trying to get people to turn the show off? I mean why even bother watching after the 4th pricing game (which more often than not nowadays is the car game) if all we're gonna get are games like One Right Price and Squeeze for our viewing pleasure why even bother?

If they wanted to be creative they would have lined things up like this (exact six games): Squeeze Play; Grocery Game; Line 'Em Up; One Right Price; Freeze Frame and an unexpected playing of Switcheroo last (cuz I certainly believe we should see the occasional sp/car game last!)

Lineup was interesting today...to say the least. Switcheroo's appeal is partially because it is so difficult to win, however this difficulty to win combined with its length makes it a bad first game. Was very nice to see Line 'em Up pop up today as well. Although I'm not going to complain about either of these games showing up, don't they kind of conflict?

Also, ending the show with two quickies should be avoided at all costs. Rearrange the lineup however you have to.

Showcases were decent today. Was also cool to see a Line 'em Up win - its rare play frequency combined with its rare win rate means it's really something you don't get to see all that often! This pushed the show above average today in my opinion.

Timings (interesting that the longest three PGs of this week in actual time were all played today):

Switcheroo (5.5) - 5:05
Freeze Frame (4) - 3:17
Grocery Game (4.5) - 5:17
Line 'em Up (5.5) - 5:27
One Right Price (3.5) - 2:57
Squeeze Play (3.5) - 3:29
Total time (25.5): 25:32

Almost a full minute and a half under today. What's going on? Are they trying to shortchange us on actual gameplay?  They should have played Clock Game or 2 for the Price of One 5th today instead of One Right Price. I mean are they honestly trying to make the lineups as quick as quick can be anymore? Even with the timecuts we should be seeing more gameplay than this. I mean, good grief.

Switcheroo: Well, she did win the most expensive SP out there.

Freeze Frame: Finally, we know the name of the Union 33 guy. Hello, Dave! And BTW, great win!

Grocery Game: Six popcorns and two peanut butter/jellies??? I had the bad feeling she went over. And I must admit, Drew saying "You're over" before the buzzer actually goes off is starting to get a little bit old.

SCSD 1: "Step on the daisy there." Another clever reference to the Goodson-Todman asterisk by Drew.

Line em Up: Hooray, we get to see this played! And won, too! Interesting how Drew put a unique spin on the reveals (first asking how many numbers were right, and then telling Rachel to flip the big pricetag over).

1 Right Price: Another great win.

IUFB 6: Don't you love it when a Perfect Bid and a $1 bid occur in the same One-Bid round? Take a seat, Benjamin, because everybody knows that no item up for bid has ever cost a buck. "Unless Sony's having a sale..." LMAO!

Squeeze Play: Back-to-back quickies??? WTF??? Well, at least no Double Prices here (that game needed some rest anyway).

Showcases: Hooray, Million-Dollar Game cue for the Vibe in the second Showcase! And a bodybuilder (Steve what's-his-name) makes an appearance! Then an eerie ending to the show: Alexander wins another car, and Elizabeth goes over for the second time (LOL at Drew remarking to her, "You're still over", as a reminder of that Grocery Game debacle)!

This was one of the most interesting episodes from Season 37, but they should've made a better lineup, with no more than two quickies per show, and they should space out each game so that there's one quickie to complement a car/cash game and a slightly longer multi-prize game in each half.

I don't really care if it's away from the podium area or in the center of the stage. There's no need for a mass mob storming the stage - or diving on the furniture as has happened a couple of times this season. This isn't "Animal House." Each Showcase player, prior to the final reveal, should be allowed to designate no more than two people to come on stage AFTER Drew signs off the show, should they win.

I miss the days when the Showcase winner would be Escorted over to see their stuff and meet the ladies. It was orderly and appropriate. That's something I'd like to see returned.

Freeze Frame was not supposed to be won!  That was probably the game's most amazing win ever!  Go Elizabeth!  Seriously, I thought the price would have been $6513, which actually also would have been pretty evil, though much less so than $8028.  Seriously... how was this won?!

Speaking of Freeze Frame, why did Freeze Frame offer an "office group package," while Grocery Game offered an ordinary singular sailboat?  Wouldn't it have made more sense for Freeze Frame to offer the sailboat, and Grocery Game the prize package?  I was honestly expecting Check-Out to pop up there.

Still speaking about Freeze Frame, I wonder why Dave waited so long to start rotating the prices today.

Believe it or not, I thought Drew actually handled Switcheroo well today.  He still said the car was the most important prize--and let's face it, it is--but he did it without downplaying the other prizes, emphasizing their role in the game.  Wasn't exactly Bob's way of hosting the game, but it worked :).

I loved when, after Tammi won One Right Price, she ran up to her new luggage and started rubbing it!  Nice to see someone get excited over "lesser" prizes like that :).

Poor Nathan.  I don't ever remember seeing Niney screwed so badly before.

You would think a product as ill-conceived as peanut-butter-and-jelly-combined would be cheaper than if the components were bought seperately.  Surefire way to make sure I never try the stuff.  Not that I ever would have.  Still thought it was a bad idea for her to buy two of them, anyway.

Was the neon yellow border in Line 'em Up new today?  I don't remember seeing that before....

Call me crazy, rob, but for some reason, Squeeze Play sixth feels more appropriate than most other quickies in that slot.

I know, I know. We love Switcheroo. But damn. And history proves that, much like Temptation, Switchy is notorious for having dry spells of wins, but having them always lead off a show is just getting under my skin.

Switcheroo feels right first.  And fifth, admittedly.  Always felt "wrong" to me when it was played second.

Drew hosted Switcheroo pretty well...right up until it was lost.  He needs to find a better way to get the contestant off the stage than constantly saying, "Well, you won whatever the IUFB was."  Actually, his whole tone of voice when this kind of thing happens needs to change...I can't really pinpoint the problem, but his attitude during it is drastically different from Bob's, and Bob's way just plain worked better.

Wow.  Freeze Frame was pretty much a forced loss.  Disregarding his unjust dismissal, I'd have to say Elizabeth stopped the Dob.

Cripes.  We get Line em Up for the first time in something like two months, and Drew can't even do the reveal right.  Rachel flipping a price tag over is not as exciting as the lights going on and the bells ringing!

Of the many, many things that are wrong with the Showcase right now, there is still at least one that I think we've managed not to mention yet:  The line, "And that's it!" before the annoying prize recaps.  Even if the final prize was a car, that line gives the impression that the showcase wasn't as big as it should have been -- not something the show should be saying about its own prize packages.

I know, I know. We love Switcheroo. But damn. And history proves that, much like Temptation, Switchy is notorious for having dry spells of wins...

In all fairness, in decades long gone by, Switcheroo was won an absolutely insane amount of the time.

something that might be happening did anyone elase see that when they showed the car for show case 2 thay used the millon dollar sound effact (you know when drew says it's the millon dollar game and you have the dun dun dun dun dun) meaby we will see a millon dollar show?  ;)

The "million dollar sound effect" is nothing more than the beginning of that cue...and besides, it wasn't used on the second set of MDSs, anyway.

Was the neon yellow border in Line 'em Up new today?  I don't remember seeing that before....

It's been there at least since Drew took over the show.  John and I tried a while back to figure out exactly when it was painted that color and failed.

Unless something's changed, don't they still play quick games for furniture or other prize packages on a rare basis?  It's similar Pick-a-Number was played for a room because Penny Ante wasn't working properly back on October 9, 2002.  But it hasn't happened too many times, and it shouldn't, since then I believe.

Well that's true too Frank. Squeeze isn't a bad quickie to end things with (neither is Freeze Frame, Push, CoG or Flip Flop). That still doesn't mean One Right Price should have shown its ugly mug 5th. That's my gripe--the back to back quickies to end with.

Switcheroo: The setup was something I could'nt figure out. I would've not won the car. Too bad.

Freeze: WOWSERS!!!!  :-o :-o That win was staright out a "shot-in-the-dark"!!! $8028 sure looked very tricky!!! Let's all say hi to Big Dave, now!!!  :D Excellent.

Grocery: Too bad.

Line: Well, It's good to see this game!!! Seeing Rachel just turn the price over instead of seeing the lights go wild is not very appealing to me. But we got another great win, though.  :-)

1RP: Nice.

Squeeze: BLAH.

Showcases: First one worked out the way it suppose to. Second one should've done without the recap. I'll give these credit. The ending with the mob hysteria needs to be taken out.

A 2.50-star show.

I would have liked Clock Game or Magic # to show up 5th instead of 1 Right Price. It just feels so out of place in slot 5.
