May 10, 2007: The Final Playing of Poker Game

After almost 32 years in the rotation, this was the final playing of Poker Game.  It's kind of a shame that this game was axed because it was up there with Swap Meet, Take Two, Shopping Spree, and Danger Price as the quickest-timed 4-prize games on the show, at 4.5 minutes.  Technically, it survived into the first part of Season 36, but it was retired by the winter.  In the same conversation with Roger regarding Joker, the reasons for retirement were the awkward strategy needed to win, the truncated rules of poker, and how only $999 or less prizes were used.

My theory is that if Clock Game could be played for four-digit prizes, then Poker Game should've been, too, and then we would've still played it on the show. Oh well...but at least it went out in style!

And Race Game would be the longest, what with the 45-second clock. I'm guessing More or Less doesn't count, although it does have four prizes, the last one being a car.

Actually, Race Game takes only five minutes to play.  Step Up is the longest-timed 4-prize game with 5.5 minutes.

I have this episode. Sad to see Poker Game go, its been around so long. At least this game had no chnace of airing in season 36 so no regrets there. Wish we saw Joker once.

See Carlos' message at the top of the forum, Jnelson.  It will give you instructions on how to get around that.

Not a problem at all. I just thought it might help others as well if I posted the actual link in this thread.

That video (and probably more) was uploaded by me. I purposely disable embedding my videos as a precaution just in case some sites link my videos and other companies Like Fremantle and/or CBS see them and request me to remove them.
