I was shocked and appauled when I heard the news yesterday! First, I was shocked that it was my mother in law who gave me the news (go figure
), but then I was in total disbelief. Yeah, the team had some problems, but it was getting fixed. They were playing better and better. But somehow, the fans (and media) of Montreal kept themselves inside a very pessimistic bubble, and it all mounted up to this! I do not understand why! I believed in the Habs chances to win the Cup, but now that they fired the coach, I'm not so sure.
I don't recall any team who fired their coach mid-season and won the Cup. If anyone can prove me wrong, be all means, do, but I doubt there are many.
I still believe in the team, and I still believe they have what it takes to win. But I'm feeling a bit apprehensive about the next few weeks...
