Me too, looks like the grill is ready. And, look, I even found even enough of something to make a side of it: winning! Mmm, this sure looks good:

You got the game on TSN, eh? I watched on CBCSports, fun to compare.

Bad news, per my math. At this point the best our Habs can do is tie Boston for the division lead. That's bad, because Boston has already won the season series (2-0-1 vs. Montreal, Habs are 1-2-0). That letdown out of the way, we can still (and will) get the 4 spot. After all, we have the greastest fans in the world.

It is bad, Guy is going to get the boot soon. The question is no longer if, but when Gainey decides to do so.

Indeed is the case. This is poor timing, in my opinion. The new coach is now Gainey.  We wish you well, thank you for last yeat, and parts of this one...

Au revoir.

It's unfortunate that Carbonneau took the rap for this, but that's pro sports for you. You can't fire the players, as they say.
2nd place, 2011 CSS playoffs.     QSW, 3/27/17, 1/15/18. Exacta, 5/14/21.

I'm definitely shocked that Guy got the boot eventually. He did the best he could for the team.  :-(  Now with Gainey taking over yet again he better get us to not only make it to the playoffs but the cup as well.

I was shocked and appauled when I heard the news yesterday! First, I was shocked that it was my mother in law who gave me the news (go figure ;) ), but then I was in total disbelief. Yeah, the team had some problems, but it was getting fixed. They were playing better and better. But somehow, the fans (and media) of Montreal kept themselves inside a very pessimistic bubble, and it all mounted up to this! I do not understand why! I believed in the Habs chances to win the Cup, but now that they fired the coach, I'm not so sure.

I don't recall any team who fired their coach mid-season and won the Cup. If anyone can prove me wrong, be all means, do, but I doubt there are many.

I still believe in the team, and I still believe they have what it takes to win. But I'm feeling a bit apprehensive about the next few weeks...

why do coaches get fired? they do nothing wrong to the team. it's the players that make most of the mistakes

Well that's true! We'll just see what happens. I still have faith in them and I know in my heart that they could win the cup with Gainey to guide them.

That might be the first-round matchup this year with your Flyers and most members of this thread Habs. It would be neat to see that again. No other Eastern confrence Canadian team is playoff-bound (Leafs, Sens). All the Western Canadian clubs, as of now, would have a playoff spot ('Nucks, Oilers, Flames). Not counting Jets or Nordiques here.

Allons-y!

Well I still say Go Habs so  :P back at ya Todd! Lol.

AGREED!
