Sept. 11, 1964 and 1972
« on: September 11, 2006, 06:05:06 AM »
Two pertinent dates for the nighttime Price Is Right. On Sept. 11, 1964, the nighttime show ended on ABC, seeing its ratings dwindle after moving from NBC a year earlier. Eight years later, in 1972 on the same date, the nighttime show returns in its revamped form in syndication with Dennis James as host. (It actually airs on whichever night the station signed for it chooses--here in Atlanta it aired Thursdays at 7:30 PM--but in first run syndication back when prime time access was introduced, Monday was generally pegged as the "launch date.")
