The one they have now. I've warmed up to most of the new set, but I'm still having a hard time getting used to the background. It looks straight out of some early 90s show or something.

To me, it's a toss-up between the grid set and the red-neon drenched set from season 1.

I cast my vote for the season 1 set...if for no other reason, it needs all the help it can get in this poll.  ;-)

I personally like both the metal grid set and the current set as being the best. I could care less about the sushi bar look-that was sorta blah.

I gotta go with the metal grid set.  That's the first one I can remember, and I loved how it would change to red during Double Jeopardy!.

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

The 1991-1996 Set, hands down. Then the Season 3-7 Set. Then the  Sushi Bar Set comes in third.

The metal grid.  Sheer awesomeness.
They can be close at the top, too.

Yes, the grid was the best; it added a sense of actual jeopardy to the proceedings, so to speak, and I too enjoyed the background switch to red for later rounds (although I wouldn't have minded a second color change for Final Jeopardy, say to orange or purple).  I also liked how the dollar amounts set up on the board in the initial Jeopardy round back in those days, with the Jeopardy! screens exploding then resetting; it would be nice if they went back to something like that.

I've decided at long last to add the Fleming set to the poll for you Daniel. BTW, what did the 1983 pilot set look like??

[What] did the 1983 pilot set look like??

The game board was still pull-cards, and everything looked like big, giant, PCs.  The values were the same as the 1978 version ($25-125/$50-250) with yellow on blue, similar to what it is today, however, the clues themselves were blue on yellow.  At the top of the show, Alex entered from the "disk drive" of the big PC-shaped game board, and walked down from it on a staircase of keys.  The podiums were blue in colour, again, all PCs.  The "buzz-in indicator" was a big blue light, about where the name monitors are today.  The scoreboards were blue eggcrate displays, and when a Daily Double was "won", the score would blink.  Final Jeopardy! was put on a big overlay on top of the Double Jeopardy! board.  The Art Fleming "JEOPARDY!" logo was still being used.

definitely loved the first season set.   Looking back, I thought the first change was too muted.  gotta love red neon.

It probably doesn't say much for the red neon that, even as a wee lad, I immediately prefered the "new" letters the next season.  And in retrospect, the red neon letters look very tacky in the first season set.  Tacky works for most game shows, mind you, but it just feels really, reallly out of place on Jeopardy!, specifically.

Then again, maybe it's just because Jeopardy! made me feel stupid as a kid, I dunno' :).
