Results--The Run It Twice II FPG-Both Grids
« on: May 12, 2006, 06:32:41 PM »
Remember that each grid was its own separate game, so what ended up happening actually did happen.

In Grid A, Dobber picked up the autowin on Pathfinder, but in Grid B, HE GOT SQUAT because someone, AND ONLY THAST ONE picked Pathfinder to pickup the major steal from the Dob to MORE THAN DOUBLE his cash for the day.

Anyway, without the fanfare, here are the results.

Hey Willy, I noticed "after the fact" I had missing w/l on my picks. Not that it mattered, the 3 in question didn't get played. I noticed it way too late anyhow. My bad.

Grand was my only pick that aired....Woohoo! I figured as much that Baggy would take the week off, and it did.

Both my grids were the same, with the exception of Swap Meet & Credit Card in the first slot. Hopefully this will get me into the Goodson Cup.

That's the key.  Putting the same slate on both grids is the best way to be successful.

Gah! I did Swap last week, but it slipped my mind this week, and Credit was on grid B.

:-o  :-o  :-o  Holy crap, Steve!  Great call on Pathy!  I didn't think any normal FPGer would've even considered that game this week.  (I had Secret on one list and Joker on the other for my SP game.)

The other big surprises this week:  Dob didn't play the Bar-Away combo... and he played TTM in the first half.
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Secret/Joker??  I had Roo/Bee (which were both more due than Pathy, hence why no one else took it).

...I swear, if I ever figure out how to work slotting/W-L'ing... (6/19 off of four correct games?  Sigh.)

Pathfinder wasn't that shocking.  There was a chance I might have taken it.  Something like Triple Play, on the other hand, that would have been shocking.

Take a look at Pathfinder in weeks 15-19.  Then take a look at it in weeks 25-28.  Especially seeing as I had two lineups this week, I had to take it.

I was thinking about an SP car game, but too many others seemed due to me.

I had Bonus/Bonus for mine.

I went 3 strikes on one lineup...I kind of thought we might see it on the heels of Thursday's GR but no such luck.

I improved slightly from last time:  last time, I put 3 similar games in both grids; this time I put 4 similar games, but all in different slots, so I was likely to get the right slot in at least one grid.  Of course, I slotted TTM 5th and 6th.

Let's see...

Last time, I bombed on both grids (as in a double 0/0).  This time, I get 3rd place in one, and I tied for 5th in the other.

I'm fine with that. :)

BTW, I had Bonus in one grid, and "X" in the other.  I did consider Switcheroo, though.
Yes, I'm still around. :P

I must disagree slightly.  If you have a case where it's a 50/50 toss-up between two games (in this week's case, Grand Game & It's In the Bag), I think it makes perfect sense to put one of them in one lineup, and the other in the second lineup.  That acts as a hedge, so unless Roger does something REALLY screwy, one of them is guaranteed to hit.  Certainly, you don't want to submit two completely different lineups, but I think there is much to be gained by having some small variations between the two lineups.
