CSS Results for April 23

Unless you were the Stage Player, who seriously should have discussed hand signals with her friends BEFORE going to the show, you were at least in the ballpark for the first showcase. Of the twelve overbids, half were by less than a thousand dollars and the other half (except Stage Player) less than two thousand. If you survived, the only question was how much you garfed the indoor and outdoor kitchens. I know Viking appliances are big bucks, but those Jenn-Air simply didn't look it. I do remember the outdoor kitchen being mildly expensive, but... wtf?

Without counting Stage Player, the average bids for each showcase were $16,014 and $17,404. This would have gotten you a points score of 78.01. Only three people actually did get that, though. pathfinder20 with by far the best bid on the kitchens and a respectable difference on the spy showcase; and visualbasicwizard, who DSWd Monte Carlo (instead of jcron, who WSDd).

Wow, 6th. I didn't know that kitchen brand was $$$$$...but still, today was the right day to be conservative with just 2 nights in San Diego being a red alert.

S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

pathfinder20 notwithstanding, it was garf-a-palooza in this session of CSS.  I can't wait for tomorrow, a bit of a moment of truth, how much will I close the gap between me and sideshow for the top of the leaderboard.

Boy, am I glad I shaved 2K off my bid on 1, or else I would have gone over for the 4th straight game.  As for my garf on 2...

I can't believe I actually won one of these!  I believe this is the first time I've won the day.  What a way to end a four-day over streak.

Four words:  :gotc:

Also, last time I played, I matched the first three digits of one of the showcases and ended up with a WSD.  Today I matched the last two digits of SC2 and ended up with a garf.  If I put the two together, do I get another Exacta?

$15,500/$18,200... Armadillo beats me on the spy showcase, but I win the battle of the garfs on the second. :-)
