CSS Results for May 15
« on: May 15, 2009, 10:53:00 PM »
I sat at a piano for seven hours today. My brain is fried. And I have no idea what was in those showcases by reading the recap, well I do, but I have no idea what I would bit on them. Just as well, I suppose.

PGS25 gets his third win and second DSW of the week today, but no cash since he was beat out by JokerFan's $16 difference on the trip. joeyboy had the best non-over difference on the outdoors showcase, but Chad1787 would have DSWd it very nicely but for his rather slight overbid on the other. Fireball and pathfinder also have very near WSQs today. Not quite, but within a couple of hundred dollars, and that's sad. :(

My brain was also fried from an AP exam, so I didn't really try. I did recognize that 1 was on a very low end, and indeed the dune buggies were only $4500 each looking online, when they could have easily been 8-9k as Stagey was thinking (at least, looking at it at the first time). When extra cash is added, though, I think playing it really safe is a good call - 16099 w/o it they felt was too low.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Wow -- A lot of tragic failures today looking at the scoreboard.  Pathfinder got a :wsd:, Fireball :wsd:-ed on his birthday (happy birthday, BTW), and Chad had the always tragic :dsw: :wsd: combination.  :-(

I did what I've been known do probably close to a dozen times this season, and that is finish second in line for cash (on SC2).  But I'll gladly take a 90+ point raw score and a top 5 finish on Double Values Friday!  :-D

$27,400/$19,200... did I miss something? Did everyone know the dune buggy combo would be cheap except for me? I don't know how there were so many bids that close to the ARP.

I've played 8 times this month and every time I have either won money or gone OVER (5 OVER and 3 money).  I wonder if that says anything about my CSS playing.

Well, this has been the story of my CSS life lately: Do really well on one showcase, garf the other.

I did score 4 times in 5 playings this week, though, nothing wrong with that.

We'd like to have you aboard.  Take a minute and read over the rules for CSS play, and maybe you can join us sometime soon:
