After watching today's show and thinking about show's during the past few weeks it's amazing to see how much improvement/how far the lineups have come. I believe this show was taped during that stretch where the 2nd half car game was pretty much guaranteed to be played 4th and the quickie was pretty much guaranteed to be played last.

Why was I not surprised 1 Right Price was lost? I could pretty much see that coming a mile away.

Drew's behaviour after his entrance (or during his entrance, or his entrance in general, whichever way you want to put it) was absolutely uncalled for.  I never use the term douchebag, but it does describe his beaviour quite aptly.

And notice how he still tripped up on saying "prize up for bids."  No matter how much you force it, it will never work.

I never thought I'd be saying that, but it was nice to see the old ARP cards.  They were so much better than the new ones.  Plain and simple works for a lot of things, and the ARP cards definitely were much nicer when they were plain, regular cards.

It was also nice to see the first two games split up.  I find the reverse effect with removing the commercial.  It seems like the first half goes by too quickly when there's no break after the first game.  The pacing is much better with all the intended breaks.

It's unfortunate that we couldn't have been treated with an appearance of a long-absent game in this episode.  I won't hold my breath for tomorrow's episode to have such a thing, but Push Over and 1 Right Price have been played to death.  There's absolutely no reason for not playing so many games.

Drew was very slack with the Showcase reveals today.  I could instantly tell a double overbid was fast approaching by the lack of any sort of enthusiasm in his voice when the show returned from commercial.  He has to make things exciting even when he knows the end result is depressing.

Today, for the first time, I was glad WBZ crunched the credits.  It conveniently prevented me from hearing Abbey Jeanette play the theme on guitar over the regular theme.  That didn't sound good at all then or after 1 Right Price.  There was no real synchronisation.  They should have settled for one or the other.  I say the regular theme, for they were already taking the guest modeling too far bringing her back thrice in the show.

And Rich rocking out on air guitar... not a good idea either.

Roger Dobkowitz's Seven Commandments of The Price Is Right:
1. Tape and edit the show as if it were live.
2. Never tell the contestant what to do.
3. Size matters. (The bigger the prize, the better the prize and the bigger the reaction.)
4. All prizes are good.
5. Never do anything on the show that would embarrass a parent with a kid watching.
6. Never put on a prize that would make the show look cheap.
7. It’s the game, stupid! (It’s about the game.)

- Roger Dobkowitz on Stu's Show September 23, 2009.

This lineup feels like a mid-70s lineup for some reason. I don't know why, but it does.

Push Over: I knew he should've stopped pushing, but it was too late.
Pass the Buck: $11,000 is respectable loot. Too bad he didn't win the car.
Bonkers: I thought the correct sequence for this was L, H, H, H.
Lucky $even: Horray, a nice win to this game that has been starving for a winner. :)
Plinko: Bad luck strikes again at the Plinko portion of the game.
1 Right Price: That was a cruel setup right there. I didn't know that would go to the handbags. I thought he won. Accursed designer items!

Really? I wasn't! It's unfair of them to do that! I somehow think it's the only CBS affiliate in the whole country that does it! Screw you WBZ!! :-x

I disagree completely. First of all, Abbey wasn't even playing the theme, she was playing the background to it (I have no clue what the official term is). I personally thought it sounded great; way better than having her just play the theme itself on the guitar. Also, it was great to have her actually contribute to the theme, rather than play random music. I thought she sounded great.
Signatures are overrated.

Once again, Drew totally blew any suspense during the second Pass the Buck reveal by saying, "Well, that's not bad," before he even showed what was there.  He can't be doing that!

There was a pretty blatant edit during Bonkers.  When Zita hit the button with about 10 seconds left, the bells started ringing...then, they abruptly stopped, and the camera randomly cut to a different angle for a fraction of a second, obviously as part of a pick-up.  I wonder how that was handled in the studio.

Hearing What'shername playing the theme on her guitar alongside the actual theme was pretty cool.  If they insist on having musicians on when they give away instruments, I don't know why they don't do this more often (and the obviously don't, seeing as this show is from three months ago) -- it sounds light years better than anything else they've done.

...[playing along with the theme rather than just playing it] sounds light years better than anything else they've done.

You could argue the piano playings possibly.

I thought today's show was pretty good!  Abbey's guitar playing alongside the main theme at the end of act 6 and during the end of the show added a cool edge to the music.  And as for Rich's air-guitar thing, he was just having some fun - isn't that what TPIR is all about, having fun?

I think this is the second time this season that someone from my homeland ended up being top winner of the day.

The show wasn't too good today, IMHO, but it was nice to see a win on Lucky 7 for a change, and I liked Abbey's guitar playing and Rich's air guitar playing.

-OB2: ROFL 1899.50!

-ORP: Purses...yeah. 8/10
-SD2: 4/5
-SC1: Cruiser, not 110, makes the waverunner a step up from the 9298 one...probably not by much, though. Probable over, decent SC though. 4.5/5

Push Over: Good try by Michael
Pass The Buck: $6,000 is a pretty nice sum of money. Dennis did well here.
Bonkers: So close for Zita.
Lucky Seven: Nice win by Rebecca!
Plinko: Doreen did pretty well by winning $1,200
One Right Price: Good effort by Kenneth
Dr. Pepper: Not recommended for Skype chats

Pushy: A number of possibilities made sense, so I didn't see this being won. Didn't think the trip would be quite that much.
Buck: ...and it's behind #1 again. Easy GPs.
Bonkers: This was not the best contestant to be playing this game due to a lack of agility and speed. But, at least she didn't look at the audience. I had a hunch we were looking at the $7995 trailer, and sure enough, we were.
L7: Not surprising to see the car game 4th, considering this was out of order. I was waiting for something to go wrong, and it almost did when the last number was a 9. But, this game gets a badly-needed win. It's surprising when, with the setups we've seen this year, this is the only game actually WON.
Plinko: It's really too bad more money wasn't won here. But, I always like to see this game in the 2nd half instead of its at least somewhat regular position in the 2 hole. Now, if they'd only play it 4th or 6th soon.
1RP: Designer crap strikes again. Not surprised this was lost.

SCs: Smelt cheap in both.

The guitar cameo was OK I guess. It could've been worse.

Boy, I would've liked to have 1RP and L7 switched today.

Just an OK show.
