Just wondering... how can I increase my profile status? I noticed that someone with only 28 posts is a TPiR Alumnus. Thanks!!

TPiR Alumnus means that they were a contestant on the show.  They also get a GOLD STAR.  That happens despite the number of posts they have.

You increase your ranking by the number of posts you make.

Both of these threads discuss how many posts you need to get a new star.
