Digital TV and Stereo sound
« on: June 30, 2009, 07:48:48 PM »
One thing I've noticed by watching TV through a digital converter box is the lack of stereo sound. It's not a big deal, but it's definitely noticeable. Is digital TV not in stereo as of yet? Or are converter boxes not made to broadcast in stereo?

DTV is most defintely in stereo (and also 5.1 surround sound, if you have the proper home theater setup).

You're probably hooking up the converter box to your TV using the RF output (which doesn't support stereo sound), rather than the composite outputs (which supports stereo, and has better picture quality, too.)

Most, if not, all DTV converter boxes should have composite outputs.
