Question About Shape of Doorframes

Not having seen this question (or its answer) on the message boards here, I wonder, after watching clips featuring movement of the Barker turntable: would it be that the current shape of the doorframes is something of an homage to the shape of the curved fixed wall of the spinning portion of the Barker turntable, or is the apparent similarity merely coincidental?

Coincidental.  The shape of the door frames didn't change other than the arms at the bottom being cut off.  If there was any "homage" planned by the designers, it was that the shape of the rotating panel of the current turntable now more closely mirrors the shape of the doors.  And even that seems unlikely since they added a big door-style frame around home base itself.
