Once again, I was the closest on a Showcase. Once again, it was in the wrong direction.

If I may cu, a little math. You bid $33,500 on the showcase, a difference of $423 over. Firey on the other hand bid $33,107 on the showcase, only $30. You weren't the closest. Nice try there. :p

One of these days I need to make myself a Usagi or Nozomi or some such icon so people can pity me in these threads.  Then again, I did have the best bid on the not-impossible-to-price showcase, so maybe it wouldn't work this time.

If it makes you feel better, I insta-skip all those graphics but pretty much always read your posts.

My bid on 1 was right in the ballpark.  As for 2, this sums it up pretty well...

Ouch...owned by simple math. :D

I didn't see Firey's bid of $33107...must have mis-read his bid or something. A quick glance earlier appeared as if I had the best bid...I was wrong. :D

Still a painful overbid nonetheless...I've had a lot of those lately.

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

Dang.  If they'd just left out the St. Thomas trip, I would have DSW'd!  :)

It figures a villa rental would have a nice package price. If they dare to offer it again, I will be ready.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

$25,000 even?  Seems they get their trips from the same place that somehow gets most of Wheel of Fortune's trips to wind up in rounded-out numbers.

I figured SC1 was going to be $$$$$$$$, but what the hell was up with 2???  When they add cash to a showcase, it usually means it's an el-cheapo that they had to bulk up to make it worth bidding on.  They certianly fooled us.

My thoughts exactly, especially when it's just $1,000. I mean, I think that occasionally there have been $2,500 or even $5,000 cash awards in MDS showcases (or something like that, my brain may just be busted), but yeah, I figured "hmm, cheap plus a grand." Or not.

$25,000 for a week in a villa. The villa in Tuscany that was presented on the Christmas Eve show was about $10,500, so HALF the price of this. The only way it was going to be won if is the other contestant overbid because they didn't know Ashley furniture is fairly inexpensive or something.

And they wonder why they're overbudget.

They could have easily put two of those Kia Souls in that showcase instead of those two trips, add enough random crap to get to the same 38k total, and I guarantee that NOBODY is bidding low enough to win it.
