I guess one way to do this would be to look at the HTML code and try to crack that...

You'll get NOWHERE doing that, trust me. :-x

I see you haven't taken computer security yet young Jedi... :)

for(i = 0; i < password.length; i++) {
passcode *= password.charCodeAt(i);
}

passcode==2.951585061772521e+24

So we know that pi(i = 1 ... password.length) (ascii value of character at i)= 2.95x10^24.  A simple dictionary attack could break this, though I'm too lazy to drag out the tools.

I feel like Matthew Broderick in WARGAMES.  Just when I think I have it, I get that "nospaces" message.  John, is this payback for all the times we called you Sally:-)?

Ok, so John wanted to use some Javascript from a script repository.

I suggested something different (but John wanted to do what's up now) and I could easily do it....and with this idea of mine, you couldn't pull such a stunt.  8-)

I'll talk to John about it later.

BTW, this one was a bit too easy to actually launch an attack on... I was able to figure out the solution the old-fashioned way :)

Wouldn't it be easier to just solve the riddle?  The answer's not THAT hard to figure out...

Steve,

Don't you think that's giving a good bit away?  That's a big part of the riddle?

I don't think it's any part of the riddle.  Sally flat-out tells us the username, so I don't really see the point in trying to pretend it's supposed to be hidden.

Steve,

I suppose, although it doesn't seem to be as straightforward as you and I saw it to be to everyone involved.

Litebulb,

I haven't gotten any confirmation yet, so either I'm wrong (which I don't think I am) or maybe he's batch confirming at the end.

It took me about half an hour to get it.  I shouldn't do such hard thinking after a 13 hour work day.

FWIW, I really didn't expect my suggestion to be taken quite this seriously!  For this "crack" to work, you'd have to somehow find a finite list of possible answers, which you could only gather from the clue, and have access to a language where you could do this, and have the skills necessary to write this program, and have all this take less time than it would take to solve it the intended way.  I highly doubt it'd be worth it, so my opinion is that the current security should be fine.  Your call, of course :-).
