I'll listen to anything but rap and country, but most of the music I listen to is pretty underground. There are a few mainstream bands that I like, however.

As for myself, I'll listen to anything except rap, "death metal", and most hip-hop.  I mostly prefer listening to the 80's.

I'm a very versatile person...I listen to just about anything, inlcuding rap, hip-hop, country, and the occasional metal.

But my passion is Alternative and Rock music...

You sound just about like me. I love a few types and a big number of stars. I like anyone from Garth Brooks to Shania Twain, Destiny's Child to Mary J. Blige, Cher, Switchfoot, Reba McEntire, Big & Rich, Mariah Carey, No Doubt, Celine Dion. I love a lot of those pop stars and country music stars. I'm more of a soft rock person, with a slight lean towards the 80s.  Dance/techno music, as long as the lyrics are kosher, are also favorites.

I'm generally into 80s music and rock music.  My favorite band is Live.  I also enjoy Cher, Madonna, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Cure, Depeche Mode.  That's a short list.  I like a lot more.

I'm mostly into classic rock and pop (pretty much everything from the 60's through the 80's).

My two favorite artists are Sherrie Austin and.. Uhhh. What's her name. That woman who has been around since the 80's, had a few hits here and there.. Oh, yeah. Esther.

I'm not a big country fan, but there are some artists and songs I like (However, two of them are NOT named Toby or Shania).

And hip hop? Sorry, rap's been dead to me since the days of RUN-DMC and the Fat Boys - you know, when rap quit being fun and turned hateful, racist and sexist?

Then again, not like I follow much of today's music in general.

My musical taste is stuck in a time warp. To me music died when New Kids on the Block and Debbie Gibson (I don't mean YOU Madonna!    ) became popular.

Music really hasn't been the same since the 80s.  Most of my favorite bands and artists got their start in the 80s.

I listen to country, Faith Hill being my favorite there.

I listen to a mix station, my favorite there being All American Rejects.

and I listen to K-Love (christian music) my favorite being Casting Crowns.

Boo!  Boo!  I love Debbie Gibson!  Just wish the radio stations would remember she had songs other than "Lost in Your Eyes."  Twice in the last ten years I've heard "Foolish Beat" played on the radio, and that's it for any other songs.
