"Let's Make a Deal" Blacked Out in My Market
« on: August 25, 2009, 05:50:23 PM »
Looks like I won't be watching the new "Let's Make a Deal", unless our local affiliate is showing it at a different time. Some new Dr. Watchamacallit or whatever Dr. Phil wannabe is being shown at "Guiding Light's" old time slot at 3PM. Anyone else getting blacked out?

Question, I have checked my CBS affiliate's site for TV listings, but it doesn't go further than Labor Day.  Is there a place where I could find listings in my area through October 5?

Look at the bright side Alfonzo, the show will probably be uploaded on CBS's website after 6 PM or something.

My local stations started showing promos for the new show.

And you are right, Goldie.  ;-)

If it's Dr. Oz, more like Dr. Phil is the wannabe.  At least Dr. Oz is a medical professional who does actual good things for people.  But that aside, if you're not seeing promos for 10 am, it's possible your affiliate is joining the ranks of those that take the morning feed.

No, Buffalo.

I should also add that the CW affiliate of Buffalo is owned by our CBS affiliate. It's possible that  LMaD could show up there as well.

Cool, another person in Buffalo.

Anyways, I hope we get it. Hopefully Channel 4 won't have a news and/or morning talk show during that time...

I don't see why not. Hell, they're showing a freakin' INFOMERCIAL at 10AM now! How many CBS stations in the country do that?!

Some people here weren't around in the 80s when some stations aired Donahue or Hour Magazine, or even syndicated game shows,  instead of, say, the 10AM hour of NBC or CBS game show programming.

KYW in Philly runs one daily at 9:30, and WCAU (NBC) at 12:30.

KYW will have LMAD at 10.  They're already plugging Dr. Oz for 9 a.m., and The Doctors isn't going anywhere.

There is at least one CBS affiliate that conceivably will not show LMaD, Sacramento's KOVR (digital 25/virtual 13). KOVR, even though a CBS O&O, has blacked out Guiding Light for a good while at the 2 PM PDT spot, so they probably won;t clear LMaD unless they have a last minute change of heart.

WIFR's been leading into Price with informercials for a few years now.

Is that unusual?

I just looked at the WCAX schedule through zap2it.com for Sept. 21st, and they're showing TPIR at 11am and 3pm!
