Now that I've seen the set in action, via that preview video, I am between liking it a little bit and hating it with a passion. I think I'm more about hating it with a passion. The colors are horrible, the fonts on the showcase bid displays DID change, and the turntable just looks...bland and without character. While I'm for a little bit of bringing the show into the 21st century, you can do that in ways that make more sense than investing in a whole new set and new electronics. Frankly, you can update the prizes, like they have been for years. You can update the colors on the set a bit. But, what was wrong with the set they had used for years? While I agree it did look a little bit awkward when they made the jump to HD, this was not what I had in mind. The show I knew and loved for all 29 of my years is no more. I will still watch The New Price is Right since it's the closest thing we have to the old show, but frankly, it will never be the same. I think if they had done the Bob Barker stunt this year instead of last year, it would just feel out of place and wrong. I mean, why would Bob come onto another show that isn't, and had never been, his?
Sorry. This LFAT has to give a big thumbs down to the new set and new changes. It's now a completely new show to me, and I will treat it as such from now on.
