It depends on how you look at it.  Yes, it was just a trip to NYC - with three 5-Star Restaurants, three Broadway shows, and a limo for a week?  If that's only ONE PRIZE, it's a very nice prize.  I've got no problems with it if they present it like they did today.  That showcase didn't seem cheap or lacking.

Still, a showcase traditionally has at least three prizes in it, so you kind of spend the whole trip plug waited for a definitive "next prize," and when one doesn't come up, it still feels like something is missing.  On top of that, last fall's showcase scripts themselves mocked the notion of only offering two prizes, so to see the show intentionally do it on a regular basis over the last several months has always seemed a bit strange.

Speaking of - BONUS GAME!  And amazing directorial work by Rich DiPirro - great camera positioning (and it really shows the depth of the new home base area).

The reveal of Bonus Game is a nice touch, but it is most effective if Drew makes note of the game and the fact that the player can win the bonus prize.  Instead, he ignored the game turning around and went to the prize.  I know it's a small thing, but why else bring the game around first if you don't make note of it.

The Segway bit was very cool.

I've really come to hate Bonkers as a pricing game.  There is really no pricing skill involved.  I understand that you should think out the price, but with a 30-second clock, it just become random guessing.

Stack the Deck worked out well today.  Having a 2 as the last digit makes the game much tougher.

Odd edit between the showcase reveals.  Could we save the minute-and-a-half needed to describe the butler/limo/personal shopper and just find some more interesting prizes?  As much as the trips seem neat, it is starting to get old.

I'm surprised no one has noticed this. If Switch? was really choreographed and planned that way (that Rachel would perform the switch that way) wouldn't it have made more sense for switching to be the right answer?  Just a thought....

So cool to see the Train during IUFB #3. Shows that somebody there cares. Does anyone know when the last time we saw the Train was?

Between the Train, the cool Switch?, and Stack the Deck and Bonus Game both being played beautifully (Stack the Deck contestant was definitely an LFAT - seemed to not need any audience help either!), great show today. Drew's hosting was on the ball all day long as well. These past two shows have given me hope after a rough start. If Drew can keep hosting like he has this week, we're in for a decent season.

Does it seem odd to anyone else that we've now seen Secret X, Cliffhangers and Bonus Game on three consecutive aired shows?

Awesome over-the-shoulder shot from Rich's point of view when he read the close caption plug intro. Having worked in TV production, I love these behind the scenes shots. By the way, it was 23 years ago this month that my parents and I attended a taping of the show. MAN.................................... .I feel old!

It was cool to see Rachel on the transporter for the Switch? game. I thought for sure that the prices should be switched, giving a big hint for this game: Rachel transports across stage to make the big switcheroo and...victory! But it wasn't meant to be. Too obvious, I guess.  ;)

1's are wild! $11,111 could have been a selected price in Cover Up, with a 1 being in each of the columns. But, alas, it was the 1 in the last column that Christian didn't pick - but needed for the win.

Really great playings of Stack the Deck, Squeeze Play, and Bonus Game! I heard all the Bonkers! fans out there yelling, "Hurry up!" to Martha, as she was relying on the audience behind her while she was going back and forth. Not a great way to play the game, but she got the win anyway.

Nice line-up of games today! Good show.

If you're wondering what was up with all of the edits in the Showcase, check out the "Week 1 Highlights" on PriceisRight.com. Kathy Greco forgot to put the card with the price on it in the holder...

It's frustrating to me when Drew botches Bonus Game, it being one of my favorites. I was going to give him a "pass" on the introduction of the game board since it seemed to be delayed in being revealed, but doesn't he know it's coming up?

Then, he presents all four small prizes at once, a la Switcheroo, and the momentum slows when he has to explain the game after the first prize has been described. Then, he doesn't pull out the prize slide to say "The next prize is a video game" (or something similar) before Rich starts reading.

I'm not trying to be picky, but his Bonus Game presentation skill has lost a lot since his early playings in season 36. I'd say "Time for a refresher, Drew".

It's definitely good to see it still in the rotation though, and to see its distinctive reveal.

I actually know for a fact that the reveals were edited. If you go to priceisright.com and click on the "Week 1 highlights" video you can see a minor blooper that took place.
Now you can buy groceries by the case at www.meijer.com and Remember "The power of the price compels you!"

If someone could tell me where my Windows Media Center files are stored on my hard drive, I could see if I could cut portions of the show (the plugs) and put them together...

Edit - wow, didn't realize how similar our avatars are!

If you record the whole show, they should be in "shared documents" in the My Computer window or just searched "Shared Documents" and inside that folder, there should be TV show recordings.

Switch?: Man, that was some good maneuvering by Rachel. I would've switched as well for a couple of reasons.

Stack the Deck: Boy, picking between the 8 and the 9 was a sure gamble.

One Bid 3: Hey, the Priiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicccccce Train is back! (Just haven't seen it in a while.)

Squeeze Play: I thought taking out the 9 was a bad choice. I was wrong.

Bonus Game: Man, if only I had a better television, I think I could have seen the game rotate in the middle of the screen instead of on the far right side. Good play, but I kinda want to question the hosting style of this game.

Cover Up: I was right on Christian getting only the 1 and 5 right on the first try.

Bonkers: For a couple of quick moments, I thought Martha was gonna blow it, but she didn't.

Showcases: Nice New York Showcase. I can settle for just the trip package.

I only saw from the start to the end of the fourth game of this one, but from what I did see, it sounded like this was a very good episode. Let's hope we can end the week on a strong note.
