I really enjoyed the Elvis showcase today. I think that's an excellent demonstration of Drew's point in his recent TVSquad interview -- you don't need some silly 1970s-esque story to have an enjoyable showcase.

(still, that doesn't excuse Jack Wagner last season)

O.B. #1: Great way to start the show off.  :-D

$ Game: It started off so well…

Check-Out: Great win.

Make Your Move: That was kind of tough

1 Right Price: Interesting price.   ;)

Punch-a-Bunch: Nice save at the end.

Range Game: Great Win.

Showcases: Again, decent showcases.

Great show to end the week. I can’t wait for “Double Prices” next week!  ;-)

I'm very surprised that nobody has mentioned what was missing from Money Game today.  I'll leave it be for now, and see if anyone else brings it up.
Yeah, the season # is no longer a choice on the board, let alone in the Rose Marie position.  But then again, the game went over 30 years without it before it happened.  Also, the idea was abandoned in the middle of last season or so, anyways.

Didn't they stop doing that late last season?

Good lineup, average show today. The showcases are getting better written and more reasonable. Was random to see One Right Price for two such expensive trips today. Perhaps that should have been on the premiere.

Timings are from the calldown of the contestant to the end of the game, or in the case of the first game, from when Drew asks Rich for the first item up for bids to the end of the game. The numbers in parentheses are the "actual" timings assigned by Roger and company a few years ago - no idea if these still apply.

Timings:
Money Game (4.5) - 4:27
Check-Out (5.5) - 5:11
Make Your Move (4.5) - 4:16
One Right Price (3.5) - 3:11
Punch a Bunch (5.5)- 5:23
Range Game (4) - 2:58
Total time (27.5): 25:26

One Bid 1: I just kept saying "dingdingdingdingdingding" because of the first perfect bid of the season.

Money Game: Keep the money going...

Check-Out: I took a wild guess on the Act and got it (and the Blue Star) on the nose.

Make Your Move: "The art supplies can't be 624." It was. Good trick.

1 Right Price: For some reason, I immediately locked on Hong Kong for $8888. Maybe because of the whole 08-08-08 thing from last year. It's okay if they do 1 Right Price like this, but I still think Most Expensive for three trips should be used on all three doors instead of just one.

Raluca's Punchboard: Of all the contestants that played the punchboard and made those sounds while punching, Raluca tops my list, especially with that last double-hole punch. I would've been a little upset if she won less than her first punch of $500.

Range Game: For a moment, I also thought it was a loss, but oh, (the win was) so barely. I would've went a little higher and lose.

Showcases: "Thank you very much."

Post-poster notes:
How can you snooze about Punch-a-Bunch?
I was also relieved that the familiar cues for Make Your Move and 1 Right Price were still used.
goldroadfanatic hit it on the head about 1 Right Price.
I have been noticing more edits (or at least double dings from Contestants' Row).
grf and sideshowPA reminded me about Money Game. I would have never guessed 64 were a 38 might have been.

One-Bid #1: I believe this is the first time I've seen someone bid perfectly on the 1st one bid of the day.

Check-Out: Amanda played this game better than I thought she did.  Great win!

Make Your Move: I figured it would be Y/G/R.

1 Right Price: Today's playing is brought to you by the number 8.  8 8's wins it.

Punch-a-Bunch: Nice fakeout by Drew for the 2nd punch.  I was expecting $5000 the way he built up the last one.

Range Game: Amazing win!

Showcases: Looks like Amanda is the lucky one today with her very good bid on her showcase.
