It kind of stinks that there's no second music sting following Rich's announcement in Half Off.  But then again, the music that was used since February 20, 2008 was more tinny than the second part of the Half Off intro cue.

I really love how Rich DiPirro reinstated the dimming of the lights for the Every Room in the House showcase, something that's been sorely missed for the last few years.

Also, for the first time in seemingly a while, Switch? for two trips!

1/2 Off: I thought the digital camera was half off as well. Would have had to choose from 4 boxes... but I still woulda got it wrong. Tough way to begin the show.

Squeeze Play: I had a feeling it'd be a case of the double 9s, and I was right. Too bad Sarah didn't know about it.

Any Number: Well... she exacta'd the iPods at least. :P

Closed-Captioning Plug 1: Harkened back to the Doug Davidson-era with the "descending from the top of the big wheel" shot! :D

One Wrong Price: Barbara wasn't deceived by those handbags... thankfully!

Pass the Buck: Another case of eliminating both "Lose Everything" spots! But unfortunately, she only got $5000, which is still nothing to sneeze at.

Switch?: I would have left the prices as they were. Alaska's not that expensive.

Showcase 1: YES!!! The dimming of the lights has returned!!! Good call, DiPirro!!! And yet another Smart Car!

Showcase 2: Am I the only one that was expecting all of the mascots to break out into a fight on stage?

That's j-a-c-a-y-a. Just As Confused As You Are.

Once again, this episode was a bit of a downer because of only one pricing game being won. The only thing that really saved this episode was the hockey mascots showcase.

Could somebody explain to me how the hell Squeeze Play was lost?

Could somebody also explain to me why Drew didn't show us where the car was in Pass the Buck?

Yay!  The dimmed effect is back for Every Room! :P

My showcase bids:
ERITH/Car--$31,507
Hockey--$19,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Loved the camera angle of the wheel before SCSD #1, reminded me of TNPiR'94 camera angle.

Two things to me were the high points of the show. First, Pass The Buck, or should I say, the way Drew hosted Pass The Buck. The tosses were Barker-like, the reveals were quick, yet effective. I don't think I've seen him host it better. The second one: Every Room In The House! :D That was just awesome. And that alternate version of MGHSH cue was nice.

Speaking of Pass The Buck, Leanne is my kind of girl. This is a family-friendly forum, so I'll spare you of the things I said in front of my screen, but I'll say this: Thank god she wasn't playing Race Game or Bonkers (and I ain't talking about the shoes she's wearing!)

A hockey showcase with Washington and Florida?! I'm offended!

LA made sense, of course, cuz the show is taped there. Washington make sense, cuz they have Ovechkin, plus it's the nation's capital. Florida, I'll agree with you! But Toronto? (no offense, leafsfan!) I'm sorry, but if you want the best NHL experience, you have to come up here in Montreal! Every player will tell you, the best atmosphere in the NHL is at the Bell Center. Plus, I would have loved to see Youppi! on the show! (By the way, every one knows the only reason NHL Hall Of Fame is in Toronto is because it's the only way for Toronto to have the Stanley Cup! :hammer: :hammer: )

Another great show today! ;)

Half-Off: Those were some expensive small prizes.

Squeeze Play: That setup was too easy for that game to be lost.  :-?

Any Number: I kind of liked Drew’s buildup for this game.

CC plug #1: Brilliance.  ;D

OWP: Designer crap wins again.

Pass the Buck: At least we know she was winning something. $5,000 is nothing to complain about.

Switch?: Tough loss.

SC #1: Rich DiPirro is my hero. I’ve been waiting for him to bring the ERITH dimming effect back.  :-D

SC #2: FRAT’s

SC #1, and the first closed caption plug just prove how awesome today’s show was.

They didn't show the wrong boxes lowering at the end of 1/2 Off.  That was kind of disappointing.  For that matter, I don't think they played the second intro cue, either.

I have no idea how Squeeze Play was lost.

The shot from over top of the Big Wheel before the first Showcase Showdown was awesome.

I'm kind of disappointed that Drew didn't reveal the remaining numbers in Pass the Buck...I wanted to see if they'd gone all the way toward setting up the game like Roger used to by putting the car behind 1.

They dimmed the lights for Everyroom!  Of course, the script for it was completely off, so it was an Everyroom showcase in name only...but God, the lights being off at the start made it all worth it.

½ Off: Since (2) was still in play, I picked that. Still lost.

Squeeze Play: Oh, I wanted to say the 2, but I picked the first 9 instead.

Any Number: Man, I wanted Earlene to say 8, but she said 6 instead.

One Wrong Price: Man, for the last three episodes, my DVR would omit the fourth game. I'll have to fix that. Anyways, for me, it's between the dinette set and the handbags. I pick the dinette set. Handbags will be the death of me on this show.

pass the buck: that is some good candy and i would have tried three for the last pick

One Bid 6 and Switch?: For some reason, I want to join Christopher and Faye for a day. I feel like I have played the games and bidded unsuccessfully.

Showcases: There is some sort of positive silliness with all those mascots on stage. I have never attended a hockey game, but I think it would be just as fun as any other sport event.

What is up with Pass the Buck? A three-fade shot of Rachel and the car/the PtB game board/Leanne and Drew and the Losing Horns after Leanne picked the 2. (I agree with Franc about Leanne.) I also feel that the Showcase Showdown plugs and other things with the show are just so positive at the cost of some of the classic cues (and some questionable editing). Oh, well.

Gosh, the ONLY good thing about this show was the dimming the lights for the Every Room. Everything was off today. Boxes not shown in 1/2 Off, car not shown in PTB...oh, Drew is getting better at his reveals for both of those games, so I guess that was a bright spot. But just an ugly ugly lineup, an ugly set of results, and an unnecessarily long 2nd showcase (though I liked the mascots, they were a fun addition). The showcase was a minute longer than normal today (6 1/2 minutes for the segment instead of 5 1/2 minutes) which contributed to the shortest gameplay time so far of the season. *sigh* Please don't make these extra-long showcases a regular thing.

Interesting circumstance in Any Number though. I know wipeouts in the piggy bank have happened before, but what about the small prize? Does anyone know?

Timings:
1/2 Off - 5:33
Squeeze Play - 2:41
Any Number - 3:34
One Wrong Price - 3:38
Pass The Buck - 4:40
Switch? - 3:31
Total: 23:37

Haven't seen anyone mention the "over the wheel" shot before the first showcase showdown.  I believe this is the first time we've seen this since TPIR '94.  I thought it was kinda cool.  I'm really enjoying the "Closed Captioning Provided By' shots so far this season because they seem to be something new everyday and give a feel of being behind the scenes.
