CBS: 'Guaranteed Seats at Price in October!'

I got this in my email a few days ago from someone at CBS. I don't know how much of it is still current, but if anyone's looking to be in the LA area, here's an opportunity that'd be hard to pass up.

There are still GUARANTEED SEATS available for The Price Is Right in October and we want YOU to COME ON DOWN!!
 
While quantities last, we have guaranteed seats on the following dates:
  • Tuesday, October 13 (4pm only)
  • Wednesday, October 14
  • Monday, October 19
  • Tuesday, October 20
  • Wednesday, October 21
  • Monday, October 26
  • Tuesday, October 27
  • Wednesday, October 28

Arrival times are either 8:30am OR 12:00Noon.
 
Pick the date and arrival time that is good for you and your guests, then call Kim or Karen at 800-852-8909 to reserve our seats.

Don't know how they can say "guaranteed seating", especially when it says ON THE TICKET that a ticket does NOT guarantee admission into the studio.

The email didn't say anything about tickets, it's offering to reserve seats.

I'm assuming this process is entirely outside of the normal ticketing/OoA system. When I was there, there were several seats that were marked off in masking tape, and as we ticket holders were corralled into the regular seats, special guests were ushered in from other doors and taken to these special seats. I'm assuming it'll be a process more like that.

I think I got it because I requested tickets in the last month or two. Can you corroborate: did your mom request tickets anytime recently?

I guess this answers my question as to whether or not they are still using paid audience groups/companies to fill seats.

The only tickets my mother have ever requested were for the Season 36 MDS's.

Odd. It can't be for expense that your mom got the email and you didn't. I don't see any good reason why this would be the case. That's a head scratcher.

I will be visiting  the LA area for a funeral next week. I called that toll-free number and spoke to Kim. They still have guaranteed seats available (I picked up 4 for the 12:30 October 20th show)

She said all I have to do is come down to the studio at 8:30 and give a CBS page my name. No need to wait in any lines outside TV City.

Can't wait for my 2nd visit to the BBS!

good luck size man. i intend to try to get into the show some time soon. i think it be a hoot. seems like a cool experience.  does any one know when the shows in october will air on tv?

The taping I went to today will air Jan 6.
