I didn't see Bullseye, but I think the grocery prize is a much better idea than the one they were tossing around a year ago about offering a cash prize in some of these games. Even if they just cut the contestant a check for $6631 less tax, it's just a more creative presentation and helps the cash games continue to seem "special".

I actually thought the groceries for a year prize in Bullseye was pretty good, and a nice tie-in to the grocery game itself.  And actual_retail_tice is right - it's just a cash prize (you'd think) but doing it this way hides the fact that they are just playing it for cash and at the same time, makes it seem special.  I'd have been happy with it as a prize anyway. :-)

During the (horrible) playing of Money Game, "38" was in the top row, in the middle.

This is the 38th season.

Could they be making a return to what they did starting in season 35?

Granted, they didn't use 38 on 9/25, but still...

Bullseye:  Too bad it was lost, but I do agree the groceries for a year was an appropriate prize for this game.  I think groceries for a year would be an appropriate prize for Grocery Game and Check Out too.
Punch A Bunch:  $5,000 is pretty good, but when am I gonna see someone win $25,000?
Money Game:  Terrible loss! :-( :-(

Pretty good show overall, IMHO.

A wipeout in Money Game! *laughs* Admit it, that was pretty cool just for the novelty value. Still pretty sad. On the other hand, Push Over for a car won is a darn fine way to start off the show. Surprised that was won also, but was nice that there was only two possibilities. Anyone who knows that PFP makes it not 5 would have breezed through that. Someone in the audience apparently did know that.

Bullseye was set up about as hard as you can possibly make Bullseye today (seriously, only 75 cents for those chips?), so we saw a rare loss. Also weird that they're making the Punch a Bunch fakes fairly easy in general while going brutal on Plinko now. Maybe this is because the overall chance of a big win on Punchy is much less great? Nice to see a pretty big win happen on this show though.

Not sure what kind of fooling around was going on in one-bid 3. I re-watched it, and it appears it was something you could only understand if you were there at the taping, so that should have probably been edited out.

What is up with these trips? Super-expensive in general and then, boom, a couple of real cheapos (or coming out cheaper than expected, at least. That bedroom was also a new bedroom to remember. It said "opulent" but it apparently doesn't cost as much as some other bedrooms on the show. Go figure they're using misleading descriptors now, haha). CSS would have been killer for this show had it counted.

Timings:
Push Over (4) - 2:44
Swap Meet (4.5) - 3:43
Bullseye (5) - 5:33
Squeeze Play (3.5) - 3:05
Punch a Bunch (5.5)- 5:07
Money Game (4.5) - 3:59
Total time (27): 24:11

About the Money Game, January 15, 2002 was the second time that a contestant didn't get either the front or the back. The first time that this happened was around November 1993.

Money Game has been around since December of 1972.  I seriously doubt it's only had three wipeouts in all those decades, or that the first one didn't happen for 21 years.

Oh definitely. I'm sure I've seen 14 or 15 wipeouts over the years, some back from the early to mid 70s. (which probably means there's been more than that for sure).

I'm back from Dayton, so I can finally throw in my comments for the final bonus show.

Well, as much as I am getting sick of Swap Meet, it's good to see that the game got switched up this time.  Instead of the cheapest prize of the three being the correct match, the most expensive prize was the correct match this time.

Charlotte won some really nice and pricey SPs in Punch-a-Bunch, so she was guaranteed to win at least $600 in cash and prizes in the game.  And then she ends up punching a nice $5,000 slip!

A Money Game wipeout?!  :headbang:

Well, here I was, expecting another pair of overpriced showcases... and Kathy throws us a couple of semi-Fireball Specials.

My showcase bids:
Room/Singapore--$23,107
Aruba--$23,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Always interesting to see five digit Push Over. Even better to see five digit Push Over being won. But, that Money Game playing was awful. Even if you don't win in that game, you should always get at least the front of the car.
