OK show, not much winning today to end the week.  I just wondering CBS pull the shows from the week of 12/7 ahead of two months to reveal the cars that just offer 1st time this season.  I see the Mustang Convertible, Chevy Aveo, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, and Nissan 350Z Convertible.  I wish they can be won next time.  By the way, is 350Z Convertible still available?  According to Nissan's Website, its replaced by 370Z during summer.  So based on the taping (9/23), 370Z should be offered instead of old 350Z.

Missed a chunk out of the middle of the show due to a CBS News break-in about the Nobel prize.  Rats!

The dealer likely still has some 350Z's on its lot that need to be cleared out, so one was offered on the show.  Pontiac dealers still had plenty of Azteks to unload a full two years after GM pulled the plug on that model.

In the second SCSD, after Gerald got 15¢ on the first spin, IIRC, Drew said something to the effect of "Oh, you've got to spin again!" without reminding Gerald that he could stay on the 15¢ if he desired.  As Gerald spun the second time, I said to myself, "Now watch him go over!" and, sure enough, he got $1.00 on the second spin.  Does Gerald have a case here if he decided to take this up with S&P?  If so, what would be fair?  Awarding him both showcases?  I don't watch the show as often as I used to, so maybe Drew doesn't remind the contestants of their options if they spin someting less than 50¢ or thereabouts on the first try.

I see that this week's show, convertible offered twice in the showcase.  So based on original airdate, it would be too cold to giveaway a convertible in December.  As a result, CBS pulled that week's show ahead.  I just think that do Americans love convertibles even though most of them are softtops and not much cargo space.  The Hardtop convertibles in the USA are Chrysler Sebring, Jeep Wrangler, Pontiac G6 (ends after 2010 model year), Lexus SC430, Infiniti G37, Mazda MX-5, Volkswagen Eos, Mercedes SLK and SL, BMW Z4 and 3 Series, and Volvo C70.

The excessive amount of trips being offered in the showcases is becoming boring and predictable, but the thing that is really bothering me are the destinations.  Three trips on today show to places that are essentially Los Angeles suburbs?  Santa Barbara?  Palm Springs?  Then, a trip to Mammoth that had me literally asking "where?".  {Edit: turns out that Mammoth is on the Oregon border, not close to LA at all.  But still, Mammoth?  Really?}

I'm sure the trips are very nice, but I live in Philadelphia and don't give a hoot about those places.  If I won one of those trips, I bet the airfare to get me to L.A. would cost more that the trip I won.

You guys at Price are getting lazy here....

I guess he might, but I don't see anything ever coming out of this. He would be really dumb to stop at $.15, especially since it was the first spin of the second SCSD.

I don't think so - I thought that before the showcase showdowns and the showcase, the producer briefs them as to the rules of that particular segment.

I may have missed this in some other forum, but why are shows getting bumped up? Is there some reason that I'm not seeing? Why aren't the shows being run in order of when they are taped? When Bob was still on, were his shows moved up and around constantly? I know there have been shows (around the time of Hurricane Katrina) where shows were moved back because trips to New Orleans were offered. I can't think of any other times where show airdates have been this jumbled up.

If shows being bumped up had to do with last weeks double run of new shows, why not just have the 9AM/2PM airings been a rerun like the first week?

If TPIR still want to offer trip, it should be trip w/car, trailer, or boat combo.  The price of that showcase could be range from low-10K to even 50 or 60K.  Way too much trips drive us crazy and taking a trip could be a hassle for faraway places.

You ask so many questions, grasshopper, that the wise cannot easily answer. Mainly, they're doing it because they can - and in the case of Monday, because Drew referred to Ms. Lancaster's appearance(s) at the recent Emmys.

As to last week, network felt it would be better to have a first-run show there to maybe, use it to shill LMAD. I'm not sure that was such a great strategy, but what other alternative did they have beyond reruns of a dreary Price Season 37.

That was a very good win in Check out. But on the other hand, that setup in That's Too Much was just asking for a loss. I highly doubt any contestant would go all the way to the ninth price.

Truth be told I miss the double airings already.  Haven't seen LMAD yet but the reviews don't make it sound like the thrillingest show ever...
