The plasma screen with the 1 Right Price logo in between the prizes does nothing for me.  Neither do the new green price cards in Punch-a-Bunch, which clash with the pink set.

Price #9 takes down yet another victim in That's Too Much!

Even though I missed Check-Out due to the pre-emption, I was happy to read that Lavon was a terrific shopper.

I knew that SC2 would be sexed-up... but I didn't think it would be over $47,000.

My showcase bids:
Trips--$17,107
Car--$35,507 ( :gotc: )
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Question.  This week of airings 10/5 - 10/9, are they still season 38 airings or are they 37 airings?  Because in this week of threads up top I see "moved up from december 11", etc.

This is my 4th week of stats
week 1 9/21 - 9/25
week 2 9/28 - 10/2 show A's
week 3 9/28 - 10/2 show B's
week 4 10/5 - 10/9

Do anyone have corrections for me?  Or is it OK?

Steve, these are season 38 airings.  They were supposed to be airings from later in the season, but were moved up.

I agree that the 2nd showcase would be up to $47,000.  The 350Z Convertible that won on Wheel of Fortune 3-4 years ago cost $37-39K, then the trip cost $4-5K, and fitness for a year cost $1K.  Anyway, I think it is a pity that only one car won on showcase this week.  Hope it will get better next week.

The dealer likely still has some 350Z's on its lot that need to be cleared out, so one was offered on the show.  Pontiac dealers still had plenty of Azteks to unload a full two years after GM pulled the plug on that model.

When a new car on sale, how long will it take to appear on TPIR.  For example, the 2010 Prius was on sale in April, and first appeared on 37th season finale (taped on 6/9).  The 2010 Genesis Coupe was on sale in April, but did not come until today's show (taped on 9/23).  So far, we haven't see the 2010 Fusion (on sale in April), 2010 Taurus (on sale in June or July), and 2010 Equinox (on sale July).

I may have missed this in some other forum, but why are shows getting bumped up.

If shows being bumped up had to do with last weeks double run of new shows, why not just have the 9AM/2PM airings been a rerun like the first week?
Pretty sure you answered your own question - CBS most likely wanted eyeballs on the new slot, so new TPIR, and this week keeps the schedule intact from 10/12 to December.

Someone else also made the comment that a "contestant search" contestant was on this week...might also be a logical reason.
They can be close at the top, too.

The reveal in That's Too Much needs to be set in stone... there's just way too much confusion going on.

For those of you that missed the Check-Out segment due to the pre-emption, it's worth watching. There's a clip of just that particular game on CBS.com. Drew handles the groceries in an even more over the top fashion than ever before (which is interesting to see), and he also handles the actual gameplay of Check-Out slightly differently (I won't spoil it, just go see it for yourself). Plus, as you can see in the recap, it's a nice win!

Unfortunately, the only thing worth seeing besides the Nissan 350Z today was pre-empted (and goodness gracious, did that showcase get up there. It's nice to see they're beginning to offer higher-end cars again. It just can throw us all off when it's a higher-end FOREIGN car. Still, I'm enjoying the return of cars to the showcases. Keep it up!) We saw That's Too Much! show up 4th today, which was nice. We've seen 2 car games 4th in the first 4 weeks of shows, and in my opinion, that's the perfect amount of car games to see 4th. Keep it up, Adam. Plus having Punchy show up 5th definitely kept the interest going even after the half's car had been attempted to be given away. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, this staff seems to love the fact that new car debuting on TPIR + That's Too Much=forced loss. I like that game more than most people here, but it is nigh impossible when they offer a never-before-seen car like the one they did today. Please start debuting cars in other games to make things a little more fair. Still, nice to see the Hyundai Genesis, a fairly nice car, show up.

Timings:
One Away (5) - 5:19
One Right Price (3.5) - 3:15
Check-Out (5.5) - 5:51
That's Too Much! (5)- 3:27
Punch a Bunch (5.5) - 5:36
Push Over (4) - 3:07
Total time (28.5): 26:35 (longer than usual today! nice)

Drew was kind of off his game today.  I hope that continues to be the exception and not the rule.

Check-Out was played very well.

Those plasma screens in two-prize games are starting to bother me.  Yes, the logos are interesting to look at...but they really add nothing to the game.  Come to think of it, it seems like every two-prize game lately is using those same backdrops, too.  I wish they'd throw in a little more variety.

The new price cards in Punch a Bunch are...um...a bit garish.

Yet again, way too many trips in the Showcase.

I see that this week's show, convertible offered twice in the showcase.  So based on original airdate, it would be too cold to giveaway a convertible in December.  As a result, CBS pulled that week's show ahead.

Dude, the show offers convertibles year-round.  For your own sake, please don't try to continue this argument.

And I have to ask...what is with this obsession you appear to have with the cars?

I guess he might, but I don't see anything ever coming out of this. He would be really dumb to stop at $.15, especially since it was the first spin of the second SCSD.

Dumb or not, if Drew explained the rules incorrectly, he's technically got a case.

In the second SCSD, after Gerald got 15¢ on the first spin, IIRC, Drew said something to the effect of "Oh, you've got to spin again!" without reminding Gerald that he could stay on the 15¢ if he desired.   ...

I just watched and listened to the show on CBS.com.  I paid extra attention to this segment, and even rewound and rewatched, just to make sure.  Here's what I saw and heard:

After the wheel stops, Gerald turns to Drew and says something.  It's barely audible, but after many reviews, I believe he says, "I gotta go again", and Drew responds by saying, "You gotta go again, yeah".  Based on the inflection in Gerald's voice, I don't believe he was asking a question, "(Do) I gotta go again?".  I believe he was making a declaration, "I gotta go again!", and Drew just repeated Gerald's statement in response.

I don't think there are any S&P issues here.

I understand that if That's Too Much's starting price starts at $18 or 20K, the winning chance could be higher since most contestants stop at fifth price.  According to Hyundai website, the Genesis Coupe 2.0T costs 23-28K, and 3.8 V6 costs from 25-31K.

And I have to ask...what is with this obsession you appear to have with the cars?

I see the TPIR offers cars everyday, and it would be happy to see a contestant wins a car.

I'm confused over the controversy over the SCSD. If he wouldn't have spun again, he would have lost anyway. I could understand if no one else had gotten over 15 cents, but with the next person getting 95 cents, it made no difference whether he went over or finished with 15 cents.

...sure.

If he hadn't spun, though, the next contestant's spin might not have landed on 95.

(Not that it matters, since Drew didn't say anything wrong to begin with...but if we're gonna deal with hypotheticals, we may as well do it correctly.)

Check-Out: I missed it due to the Special Report, but congrats to Lavon for being one of the best Check-Out players in a long time.

That's Too Much: I was thinking one more, but not that far down.

Punch-a-Bunch: Ew, the green price cards with yellow look really tacky.  Go back to yellow & black.

One Away: Tough loss

1 Right Price: I thought Santa Barbara myself. I would have won myself.

Check-Out: Fantastic playing.

Punch-a-Bunch: Those cards look awful. He should have taken the $1000.

That’s too Much: That’s too evil. It’s setups like this that have left a very bitter taste in my mouth.

Pushover: She should have gone all the way.

SCSD #2: I watched the show online (to see the Check-Out segment), and I watched with the volume all the way up, using headphones to hear clearly, and Gerald clearly said himself that he had to go again.

Showcases: Way too many trips.

O.K. show today. That’s too Evil Much is back to evil setups again.
