Guess I'm in the minority here, but I find a $6500 rolex more exciting than a $6500 hot tub or whatever they give away every darn week on the show. Would like to see more luxury offerings.

I remember Roger's most recent interview on Shokus...

One of his commandments was "The bigger the prize the better"

It seemed to work all those years. Rolex watches are not impressive.

One of his commandments was "The bigger the prize the better"

Which somewhat ties in to my thoughts on why the trip skins were better. You can give away the most fantastic trip of all time, but it will always feel like a bigger deal to me if it takes up an entire door, rather than appear as fly-by footage on a large plasma screen.

Personally, I don't think she should have been chosen to be a contestant with her history with the show.

I agree with you, it was something different and I thought it was quite exciting.

Why do all the special celebratory shows feel like ordinary shows? I mean, WoF's 5000th was a normal show with 5000s tacked everywhere, and I shudder to wonder what Jeopardy's 6000th will be. It's a real buzzkill...

Liked the showcases though.

Well, my opinion of this show is pretty much simple. It sucked. Seriously, nothing, absolutely NOTHING made it feel like it was the 7000th show. The lineup was boring (I don't care if the last half was the first three games ever played. When you play those games all the time anyway, it just makes the episode feel like a regular one!) When the total winnings for a show like this is only in the $55 thousand range, you know something's wrong. There was absolutely no excitement in this episode whatsoever, and, for the first time ever, I found that I was actually forcing myself to watch. I was very disappointed.
Signatures are overrated.

This show reminded me of the season premiere, which was also lackluster. Hopefully they do a better job for the next special episode.

Well, I guess we all have our opinions about the 7,000th episode and whether it should have been "special."

I'm not so sure that all multiple-of-1,000 shows should be "special," "go all out," etc. I wonder if TPiR did such a thing for their 1,000th, 2,000th or 3,000th show, aside from mentioning said fact and then going on with the proceedings? I can't even recall offhand whether there was a special 4,000th show?

I admit the glamour wore off for Wheel of Fortune did the same for their 3,000th and 4,000th (syndicated) shows — all these were were "clips" episodes, with no other fanfare. No big special prizes, just remembering the memories. I can't seem to recall that WOF had a special "5,000th" episode, but I guess that's a discussion for another forum.

It seems a shame we've been weaned on expecting the special when we reach these milestone shows, such as a yacht and a Cadillac DTS sedan with all the goodies. Yeah, it would have been nice, but it didn't happen. The sun came up the next day, and we're all still here, praising the good and panning the bad.

B-b-b-but... she took a picture with the big wheel! And god knows what she may have did with the old trusty Plinko stick!

She took a picture with A big wheel.  Come on...don't we ALL have a regulation size practice wheel in our garage or basement for posing/practice purposes?  Mine is between my full-scale PLiNkO and my yet-to-be-finished Cliffhanger.  COME *ON* NOW!
I apologise in advance.
