LOL @ the Bean Bag chairs "Filled with beeeeeeeans."

Great to finally see someone win Pocket Change! (Though I hate when it's that close!)

I was again baffled by the price of the haircolor - there IS haircolor that costs that much but that brand is one of the lower to middling ones.  $7 tops usually.  $12? NEVER!  The entire audience was POSITIVE about it though and sure enough they were right.  I picked the detergent and didn't realise until the bottle was brought over it was a dinky size.  *sigh*

Have you noticed the models wear the same "golf" outfit every time?  (Lime/teal argyle sweater/white skirt)

I was impressed that Drew could do that many push ups!
I apologise in advance.

El Cheapo wasn't the right choice? That's sad to see. :-(

It was pretty funny to see Drew doing push-ups, though... he was actually doing pretty good!

It’s in the Bag: Good move taking the bailout of $4k.

Money Game: I was fooled by el cheapo. The ending was awesome.  :oldlol:

Secret “X”: Tough loss. Drew’s comments about the meat thermometer were great.  :oldlol:

Switch?: I thought Maria should have left them alone.

Pocket ¢hange: She played it pretty good.  I was a little worried when she had a zero and nickel slip.

Squeeze Play: Good win.

Showcases: I already miss yesterday’s showcases. 2 definitely needed a car.  :-?

Good show today. I would have preferred to see Coming or Going instead of Squeeze Play today. (Where is Coming or Going? We haven’t seen that since both sets of shows in week 2.)

Good show today.

It's in the Bag really does not work as a first game - it takes a really long time to play, and it's rarely won. A bad combination for a first game.

Money Game was great. Drew's actually pretty good at push-ups!

I'm glad that Stan is still regularly using the 1983 trip cue heard in Secret X. That's definitely one of my favorites. In general, he seems to still be using the best classic cues. Now, if only he'd break out the Big Banana...

Nice to see Pocket Change won for once.

I agree with the others - showcase 2 was begging for a nice car. That was a pretty big letdown. But the first showcase was fine.

I find it ironic how the show tries to mix up the prizes and offer "cool" things like over-stuffed trips and impossible to price items to make the show less "predictable." Yet, the same things happen every single time a show airs.

I'm disappointed that there was more corruption and conspiracy on the Price is Right today.

I mean, how can a grocery store worker be eligible to be on TPIR? And she miraculously got to play It's In The Bag, a grocery pricing game! Then she goes on to win everything? I haven't smelled anything this bad since I went dumpster diving behind the fish market!

Obviously, Drew or someone from CBS saw her at the grocery store she works at, and told her to "come on down" (no pun intended).

This makes yesterday's celebrity contestant look positively on the up and up in comparison!

 :D  ;)

But seriously... I don't think I've ever seen Pocket Change won. And starting out with a .00 didn't help matters.

And as for It's In The Bag... I figured the hair dye was the most expensive, but Margie stopped at just the right time.

Repeat to yourself "It's just a show, I should really just relax."

It's kind of sad how good this episode was...I mean, I'm glad it was good, but it's depressing how much better it was than yesterday's.

Does it bother anyone else when El Cheapo shows up in Money Game and isn't part of the car?

The second showcase didn't feel right ending without a car.

And...wow.  I'd have thought I'd have more to say about this show, given how much I enjoyed it.  Guess not, though!

Agree with Steve actually. This was a great show with not much to say about it. Nice to see some intelligent gameplay combined with some reasonable setups for once (aside from the somewhat cruel Secret X, but that happens). Still, 4/6 with a 4k bailout, plus 10k on the wheel, plus non-terrible showcase bids=good show. The lineup/slotting today were bad though. It's In The Bag is an awful way to start a show. Money Game is awful in either of the first 2 slots. Both of them together=really bad. And then we had two quickies in the second half. The actual game selection wasn't terrible, just the slotting left something to be desired.

I loved the pushups celebration at the end of Money Game.

Timings:
It's In The Bag (6.5) - 5:30
Money Game (4.5) - 3:25
Secret X (4.5) - 4:29
Switch? (3.5) - 2:28
Pocket Change (5) - 5:45
Squeeze Play (3.5) - 2:53
Total time: 24:30

Apparently very few others have little to comment about this episode.. I've never seen a recap's comments limited to one page this late in the day :P

Money Game:  I was actually a little surprised that El Cheapo wasn't the back end of the car.  Nice win & good pushups! :-)
Secret X:  Maximum bummer! :-(
SCSD#1:  All right, another $10,000 winner! :-)
Pocket Change:  Finally, a win! :-)
Showcases:  I also agree that Showcase 2 should've had a car.  I think a Corvette would've worked great with the rest of the showcase.

Good show to end the week, IMHO.

This is not out of line.  I know for a fact that there were a few Grocery Game contestants during Bob's era and he once said to this player, (Where Grocery Game was his game.)  "What do you do for a living?"  The Contestant said, "I'm a grocery clerk!!!" LOL!  The audience would crack up and Bob would say something like, "You wanna just take the prize and go home!" LOL!

In fact I recall many people on the show over the years who worked in grocery stores and when they played Grocery Game, they would often lose!

Maybe John or Marc has more details on this.

Just to let you know, the first part of my post was a joking reaction to yesterday's uproar.

Oh, and where Kev up the thread liked the celebratory pushups, I was impressed someone picked Drew up.
