Today's show makes me glad that I have a couple of days off to mull over the season thus far. The 4970s, unless New Year's Eve has a surprising turnaround, has been all about great starts and then just more and more frustration down the stretch.

We had great gameplay contestants today, with perhaps the exception of Spree. Erin was great and managed to get Greco...but no one else did! Just look at this:

-Sidey: Both look just as right.
-Calculator Game: ARRGH! She did relatively well and I thought she was definitely in range and then that randomly expensive new nasal thing comes up where it shouldn't be. That just shouldn't have been there for a 5k Ashley room.
-241: AAAACKKKKKKK!!! IMPOSSIBLE to figure out the last digit with any kind of sense!!
-Balance: URRRRRRRGH... another stupid low difference (1k) thing, 3499, 3999 each...what's the difference??

And then that Maxum boat has to take a break. There are Sanibels and Reinells and you used them last season, please use them again.

1/6 days happen, but I really feel like it should have been a 4/6 today the way the contestants played. Greco seems to NEVER take a break and it's finally starting to get to me again this season.

Also, Adam - I dunno what you've been doing, but your experiment failed. Non-car games for a car is supposed to be 1-2 times a month, not back-to-back, and hopefully if they do it gives time for both GP/SP still, which it hasn't (has been two MPs instead though). I hope to see a more regular lineup on Friday.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Erin’s Cover-Up win was fantastic! Take that Greco!!!  :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

I’m really loving having the first commercial break back.

That staging in Side By Side was weird. The price was evil.

I think it was smart for Lanisha to stay off the skateboard (and to wear the helmet!)  :P

Hey, at least they got the setup for 2 for the Price of 1 right. All high numbers on top, lower numbers on the bottom.

Hmmm, cheapo motorcycles in Balance Game.

So, yeah, I’m with Wayo; fantastic gameplay, should have been more wins, Greco strikes again.  >:(

You know, I getting a little tired of that variably priced boat. There are other makes and models in the marine industry.

Ah, but wasn't it just discussed on the thread for Monday's show that it was aired out of order, which is also why we had repeat games on Friday and Monday?

I'm well aware we're out of order. I'm talking about 2 days in a row we foregoed a GP or SP AND had only one true car game, I'm not complaining about repeat games.

Yes!  All hail Erin!  She knew the Cover Up strategy!

Yay!  Shopping Spree! :P

It's always a bad sign when at least one of the items in Check-Out is worth more than $10.  I knew the game would be won or lost on those nasal thingies.

Yay!  2 for the Price of 1! :P

An aquarium coffee table!  And when we return--and return we will--we're gonna add something to it.  FISH!

My showcase bids:
:frbs: --$24,507
Safari--$20,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

I really thought we were going to get a three-car day today, the way Drew was hyping up the sixth game...and then those motorcycles showed up.  Blah.

Ah, but wasn't it just discussed on the thread for Monday's show that it was aired out of order, which is also why we had repeat games on Friday and Monday?

Yesterday, today, and Friday are three consecutive episodes...and I reiterate that even if Monday's real show had been aired on Monday, Pocket ¢hange still would have been played two shows in a row.

*Sigh* I'll be brief...

Positives: 1) That Cover Up playing was amazing, and if you listen closely you see that she even mentioned "strategy" on air. How awesome was that, saying that a Ford Focus was $12,000 without thinking about it and then telling the audience to shush? That was just beautiful, was a little worried she wouldn't get the last number but glad she got properly paid off. So disappointed when she didn't make it to the showcases. 2) Looks like Lanisha's skateboard frustrations are going to be a recurring theme.....haha.

Negatives: 1) Setups, setups and more setups. $11 items in Check-Out for a $3800 room? 756 as the price in 241? I'm done....these honestly make the show unwatchable at times when you know the contestants are going to lose ALL THE TIME, EVERY SINGLE SHOW all season. Please lighten up. 2) I third the point - I am tired of those stupid Maxim boats. Just because you love them because they're variably priced and therefore prevent exactas doesn't mean you shouldn't use others....ugh.

Every day I watch and I hope "today is going to be the day we have a great show". Aside from the Wednesday before Thanksgiving show, this has happened far too infrequently recently. These setups just suck all the life out of it. Hard setups are fine, it's the EVERY GAME EVERY SINGLE DAY part that is just....downright demoralizing.

Timings:

Check-Out (5.5) - 6:06
2 For The Price Of 1 (4.5) - 3:41
Balance Game (4) - 3:51

Nice victory there in Cover Up. Too bad that was the only win of the day, though.

Cover Up: To me, I think there was some good strategy play in Erin's part. I kinda like it.

Side by Side: "Sorry, Charles laddie."

Shopping Spree: Seeing the good ol' $980 mower, it kinda felt like Danger Price to me. As soon as Janie picked it, it was like she picked the Danger Price--it was all over.
I imagined myself in this situation. I would raise my hands over the Peanut Gallery, saying, "I got this. Don't worry." and play the game with so much ease. I wonder how I would look if I actually did this...

One Bid 4: "A remote controlled skateboard?...."

Check-Out: Even though she lost, I really thought Olivia played the game okay.

2 For the Price of 1: Again, some okay play, just tough luck.

Balance Game: This time, I was certain that the $5K had to be left alone.

Showcases: A lot of boats and trips, eh? I see.

I hope Erin was serious when she said that she was using strategy in Cover Up. That's very awesome if she really was.

They need to stop making Lanisha model that battery-powered skateboard... that thing really has it in for her.
