I know Rich was joking, but I hope Drew realizes there is a limit as to how far he can go on that, and it sorta cost him quite a bit with the yogurt falling. I'm sure Rob did not enjoy that much today. :P

You got that right, Wayoshi!  :-P. I said it last season and i'll say it again, Drew should stop fondleing the GP's.

What an underwhelming lineup other than Pathfinder today. I guess I should have seen this "blah" of a lineup coming after PAN showed up first. Any quickie other than PAN makes more sense first.

Amber must have been in "la la" land during Switch? today.

The whole Switch? incident was legitimately funny. Unfortunately, apart from that, Drew made things unwatchable today. Seriously, what is the point of repeating the name of an elliptical trainer "Schwinn, Schwinn, Schwinn"? Or the phone plug, or of course the GPs in Hi Lo....Drew just acted like he was 5 today. It's amazing that this was taped the same show as yesterday, which while not spectacular or anything, certainly was decent. Solid lineup, but I'm afraid I can't say much else - Drew's annoying antics just dominated the show today. If it were like this the majority of the time, I'd stop watching.

Timings:
Pick A Number (3.5) - 3:22
Pathfinder (6) - 5:55
Swap Meet (4.5) - 4:25
Hi Lo (5) - 4:53
Switch? (3.5) - 3:11
Money Game (4.5) - 4:24
Total time (27): 26:10

But honestly, who would pay $4.29 on a package of 40 cups? I figured they would be about $2.00-$2.49 at the most.

You're right, but it didn't really matter:  $2.49 still looked more expensive than the other three products that belonged in the lo row.  So basically, the setup looked harder than it actually was, since despite the cups being far more expensive than they looked, they still legitimately looked like one of the three more expensive products.

Drew's fooling with the Hi Lo groceries today made it hard for me to play along. It was such a mess on the table, I didn't want to bother figuring out what was there anymore. Hopefully that stops.

re: Switch?, the precedent on giving the win there is more Bob's fault than anything. It was clear she lost, despite what Amber did. I would even go so far as to say Roger might have given Drew that advice when he came on - if something goes wrong, you can declare the contestant the winner. The audience would have likely had Drew's head if he insisted on continuing the game as normal (which I would have had no problem with).

I'm a fan of different reveals. The way they sometimes leave an IUFB up and whisk it away to reveal a pricing game's prize is honestly cool. I imagine if they did it in the Barker era, it would be one of those cool things Carlos posts on YouTube that we wish they still did. But, as neat as it looked to see the plasmas part to reveal a motorcycle, it was a cheap ending to a showcase.

I can't believe I sat through this entire show.  In all seriousness, this may have been the worst episode in the entire history of The Price Is Right.  It was an utter debacle from beginning to end, without a single redeeming quality that I can think of.  Drew acted like he was five years old and made it painfully obvious that no one in the studio has any control over him.

I can understand that it should be interesting to have someone actually playing the electric guitars that they offer...but there was zero energy in the song with the first Item up for Bids.

I call shenanigans on Pick-a-Number.  I don't believe that ten massages "at a spa of your choice" can have one specific price.  Using that in a game where the price mattered made absolutely no sense; in fact, if Julian complained about it, he'd probably have a pretty good case for being awarded the prizes.

Pathfinder was, as usual, set up horribly.  Five of the prices ended in 5 or 0, and the only one that didn't was a right answer.  (...Isn't that exactly what happened the last time they played this?!)  It's a miracle Andrew got as far as he did.

Oh, and speaking of Pathfinder, panini presses are about as funny as architect desks.

Hi Lo was...I don't even know how to describe it.  Drew's done some goofy things, but I think destroying the groceries and spilling yogurt on one of the pricing games takes the cake.  That was beyond stupid.

...and sadly, Switch? might have been worse.  I'm not really sure what made Amber flip open that price when that clearly wasn't what Drew was saying, but that wasn't nearly as bad as Drew giving Alexandra the prizes when we already knew she'd lost!  There is no way that should have happened.

And speaking of Switch?, offering maid service in a pricing game was pretty strange.

And...um...well, Alexandra was pretty.  I guess that was good.

In a way, I'm almost glad Roger doesn't work at the show anymore.  I'd hate for his name to be associated with this garbage.

When has [a blooper win] ever actually been Drew's fault?

The time he screwed up Double Prices immediately comes to mind.

I'm mostly doing this today because I'm actually having fun with it:

Quote
This showcase contains prizes revealed as we look at American history.  And it starts with you learning about the first capital of the United States...on your trip to beautiful Philadelphia!

(Insert Philadelphia plug.)

Next, see where Paul Revere yelled that the British were coming when you travel...to historic Boston!

(Insert Boston plug.)

Finally, go anywhere else in our great nation on your final prize, a true piece of Americana:  This new Harley!

(Insert motorcycle plug.)

And this showcase, which we hope will go down in history as being won, can be yours if the price is right!

Quote
Julian, your showcase is all about having fun in the water, and it starts...with this new kayak!

(Insert kayak plug.)

But sometimes, you want someone to do this sailing for you.  And that will be no problem when you leave...for your cruise of the Greek Isles!

(Insert cruise plug.)

Once in a while, though, you don't want to be in the boat at all.  And when that happens, it's time to put someone else at the helm so you can ride along...behind your new ski boat!

(Insert ski boat plug.)

And Julian, this showcase, designed to help you have fun in the water, can be yours if the price is right!

Amen brother.

In theory for Pick-a-Number, this could become a good settlement if Julian knew this at all. It may just become a - he didn't notice, so our butts are saved situation.

Outside of Amber, this gets a less than an F, maybe an F- for production. What next? the entire stage just falls apart?

Best contestant for 1-5-2009: Alexandra. No one else really deserves it.

Can at least that almost every current model has had a mistake on the show at least once (except Manuela): Rachel wrecking the car in L7, Amber today, Lanisha's accident with the skateboard.

This episode stunk .

In all seriousness, this may have been the worst episode in the entire history of The Price Is Right.

And that might be the biggest exaggeration in the history of the golden-road.net forums.  Yes, there were some annoying things that Drew did but not once did I think I was watching the worst episode in history.

Stupid doesn't even begin to describe the Hi Lo segment today, imo, Steve. I think childish/sophomoric/moronic might be better descriptions for this segment today.

I guess it depends on how specific you want to be about American history.  A decent case could be made for either city.

And that might be the biggest exaggeration in the history of the golden-road.net forums.  Yes, there were some annoying things that Drew did but not once did I think I was watching the worst episode in history.

I don't feel that I'm exaggerating at all.  I had more fun watching the college MDS than I did watching this episode.

I'm sure all the CSS'ers who keep price lists to play that game are MORE THAN HAPPY to now know what that prices out at.  Great job Mike/Kathy.

I'm also happy that the behaviors that were being displayed off camera are now being displayed ON CAMERA.  Makes what I spoke of when I had savethepriceisright.com seem all the more realistic and true.  Right?

Well, Steve, then why do you watch?

Not trying to bash, just asking a simple question.

If you hate everything since, say, late 2007, why do you keep watching?

Is a CBS Representative holding a gun to your head every day at 11 AM Eastern?

I'm a comic book geek, and I hate some of the things DC Comics (for example) has done recently. Instead of continuing to reward what I consider to be mediocrity, I stopped buying what they were selling.

And much like comics, there's plenty of The Price is Right from the first 35 seasons to watch. I would assume you have a decent video collection of episodes.

So, it's just a simple question, asked respectfully... why keep watching something you derive no enjoyment from watching? And that goes for everyone who just keeps watching so they have something to complain about. It just doesn't make any sense. I mean, it's been over two years... it doesn't seem like things will be coming back around to what some of you think they should be. So why keep beating a dead horse?

That's no excuse for most of the stuff Drew did today. I tried to keep my opinion of Drew's performance out of my previous posts, mostly because they would probably get too long, but I found a short and contrite way to simplify it:

Drew acted like a complete jack#$% for the most part. Plain and simple.

A bad day is no excuse.

(and this is the first time I have spoken of Drew in this manner, mainly because I try not to pay attention to the host all that much. Makes me wonder how many times I would have used a statement like that if I would have been if I were a member of this site last fall.)

Hard to believe this show was taped the same day as yesterday's show.

I have to say...that I was enjoying this episode just fine until the Hi-Lo immaturity. Him briefly toying with one or two items is a bit annoying, but tolerable, but this honestly took me out of the show and had me wishing I was there to stop Drew from doing that. I mean, what was the point? With that odd music cue there too...was this pre-planned? Probably not, but it sure was odd. Let's hope that what others say is true and that this will put a stop to him doing that. (Ironically, I was cooking Zatarain's Jambalaya while I watched this)

Oh, there was one other thing that took me out of the show too. During IUFB #2, when Drew was interacting with the contestants about the bids, he was mumbling in such low tones I yelled at the screen, "Stop sounding depressed!"

I actually enjoyed Amber's odd moment, as it seemed an honest mistake. It was unusual, admittedly, but a fun bit nonetheless.

Some other positives include a partial turntable reveal for Money Game (and a great save in the gameplay to boot), a playing of Pathfinder (always fun, even in a loss), some great camera work in the CC promotion shots and the very appealing and attractive Alexandra.
