Greco was just mean today with That's Too Much...another time the player was on the right track but got bitten by the dreaded "just one more" curse.  Can we PLEASE get back to normal and start putting prices in spots other than 2 and 9?  It's gettin' downright predictable as is!!!

And another pair of showcases that has no car.

Greco, FYI, the ingredients for a good show are:
1.  That's Too Much with price in spot other than 2 or 9
2.  Showcases that have CARS, not those blasted TRIPS

One Away was perfectly executed today.  Thrya knew the protocol to asking for the horn honks, Drew let her have the mic the whole time... and she actually won the car.  I thought the price was $23,679.  The George and Frank thing was a little odd, but it worked in this segment.

Yay!  Half-Off cue! :P

The DirecTV price was scary.  I never would've expected it to be that high.

After four straight wins, I said in chat that the only way Kathy could ruin the perfect show was for the last two games to be That's Too Much and Punch-a-Bunch... and guess what happened?

And no surprise, price #2 was correct.  Armadillo told us in chat that in TTM's last 11 playings, the correct price was either #2 or #9 every time except once, when it was #8.  And it has been lost all 11 times.  This game is quickly turning into the new Temptation.

My showcase bids:
Switzerland--$25,107
Boston--$25,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

What's this?  A show with a semi-"normal" feel?  I am amazed.  At least for the first 4 games, things felt normal, but then the record starts to skip on the turntable....

...silly gifts in Punchboard....silly gifts in Punchboard...silly gifts in Punchboard....silly gifts in Punchboard...

{{whack}} this is how we used to fix a record player, back in the day...

...TTM in 2nd spot...TTM in 2nd spot...TTM in 2nd spot...TTM in 2nd spot...

Get it yet Fingers?

The showcases were fine, except that I would have made the Spa in SC 2 the last prize.  A trip to Boston just doesn't feel like the culmination of anything.

The first four games were won, but didn't need any special rigging to make them work out fine.  Any of them could have been lost just as fairly as won.

Does anyone think that Fingers, seeing the first 4 games won, went and adjusted the fakes for TTM?

You know, will all the grumpiness about the show not using "patterns" in the set-up of pricing games like they use to, everyone seems pretty darn upset when a "pattern" of consistency is used in That's Too Much". Granted, the second slot is evil for various reasons, but you can't have things both ways when it comes to the set-up for the games.

It may be your intention to trap some of the more staunch traditionalists into an inconsistency here, but with setting up TTM, there is a large difference.  Placing the correct price in the 2nd or 9th spot simply isn't fair to the contestant.  Some of the other subtle changes in set-up may be annoying, but are mostly fair.  This one isn't.

What a fantastic show! Truly an enjoyable show!

The whole One Away segment was perfection. Thyra was a perfect candidate for "contestant of the year", Drew hosted fantastically, letting her take the mic. and do the sound effects lady spiel.

The first 4 segments were flat out awesome! It truly felt like the good old days.

Then, reality reared its ugly head again.

Evil fake in That's too Much!, Tough SP's in Punch a Bunch, showcases where the big prize is a freakin' trip.

But in my opinion, the good overshadowed the bad.

No, I can't say it's totally fair either. But setting up the game to win on the second or ninth position is similar to putting the winning slip in the corners (at least at one time...), on Punch-a-Bunch...  They may not always be there, but the theory is widely know.

Well, we had more wins today than all of last week. Nice running gag in One Away, though. Let's hope this is the start of an excellent week to come, even though they are still making That's Too Much impossible to win. That needs to stop soon, or that game could get retired pretty fast.

You really think the current regime would retire a game because it's not getting won enough? That would be a logical argument in the Roger era, but certainly not now.  They're playing the games that are easy to set up for a loss very frequently now - this is why we see a lot of One Wrong Price, That's Too Much, Stack the Deck, Pick a Number, etc.

I find it ironic how the show tries to mix up the prizes and offer "cool" things like over-stuffed trips and impossible to price items to make the show less "predictable." Yet, the same things happen every single time a show airs.

It's the return of the trips (I guess they never went away!)

FOUR trips for prizes in this show!

(where are the cars in the showcases---are they that much over budget?)

Today's show was tons of fun to watch! I found myself really rooting for Thyra in One Away. She was an awesome contestant!

For the record, not like it matters, but I would've won That's Too Much. :P

Signatures are overrated.

Thats a completely inaccurate comparison.  In punchboard, any slip has an equal probability of being in any slot, and furthermore the contestant has the free will to pick the corner slots.
Anxiously awaiting another MDS since 2009.

The DirecTV price was scary.  I never would've expected it to be that high.

Really? It included NFL Sunday Ticket, in HD, along with other sports packages; sunday Ticket in HD alone is over $600.
