Regarding joeyboy's comment about today's Switch? playing:

Probably the same way I won it playing at home: Total Random Guess.

IMO, I think that's exactly how Switch? is supposed to be played — a Total Random Guess.

Showcase #2 just doesn't work without a car, sorry.

Yay!  Hole in One and Pathfinder in the same episode! :P Just too bad that both of them ended up in losses, most likely because of Greco's evilness with the grocery items and small prizes.

And yay!  The Grammys showcase was presented by a musician I have actually heard of and like!

My showcase bids:
:frbs: --$30,107
Grammys--$18,107
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Showcase #2 just doesn't work without a car, sorry.

Why is it necessary to have a car in at least one of the two showcases? A vehicle of any sort (this includes trailers, trucks, sports cars and luxury cars) for the Grammy showcase would have changed its focus, making it look like the car was the primary prize of the showcase; forget about the trips, cash and gift cards.

I didn't say we should have a car everyday, but the collection of prizes in that showcase sucked.

I agree with Wayoshi that the 2nd showcase barely even qualified as a showcase so much as a collection of prizes put together to advertise the Grammies. They should have offered something tangible in that showcase - heck, a MOTORCYCLE at the end would have sufficed. Instead, it just all felt like trips and packages put together to advertise the Grammies. That said, I appreciate that they actually got a reasonably popular person in there to present the showcase, and he did a good job! That does count for something.

Not much to say about the rest of the show, except that it's nice to see the setups continuing to ease up (OWP, Range Game, even Pathfinder...) While Pathfinder was still hard today, it was much more reasonable, and it followed a logical path which makes it OK. Also, seeing Hole and Pathfinder in the same lineup justified having the other 4 games be quickies, I thought. That was awesome and unexpected. Poor woman in Hole couldn't putt to save her life though, but she was understandably nervous.

Timings:
Range Game (4) - 3:06
Hole In One (7) - 7:08 (2nd longest game of the season)
One Wrong Price (3.5)- 3:23
Switch? (3.5) - 3:03
Pathfinder (6) - 5:00
Balance Game (4) - 3:21
Total time (28): 25:01

Drew's inspiration putts bother me these days.  I can't imagine that the contestant is very "inspired".  Bob always took such great pleasure in the inspiration putt, and frankly, if Drew is not going to take it seriously (i.e. do it two-handed and actually try), it should be discontinued, or at the very least, passed off to someone else on the cast/crew.

Also, it is worth noting that Switch? is one of the few games that has a clear winning record at this point in the season (11-6).

It did not like the massages and facials (and the national average at that!) for a year being offered in Switch?.  How is someone supposed to price that?  If it's a game like Cliffhangers where you don't need to price it, that's fine, but who had any idea about the national average for massages and facials?  Not fair.

Is it me or was Pathfinder very tough to win today?

Range Game:  Good job! :-)
Hey, Range Game's got a major winning streak going!!! :-P
I wish all the games would get major winning streaks going.
Switch?:  Great win! :-)  I thought for sure the prices would need to be switched.
Balance Game:  I was a little surprised at how much that spa was!

Pretty good end to the week, IMHO.

God, what a good week this has been.  Drew has somehow managed to be himself without it seeming moronic or obnoxious.

Having the old light border on Door #4 during the opening is an awesome idea.  I hope they keep doing that.

Poor Lisa...she's clearly a loyal friend and true, and she just had no luck whatsoever.

I guess I'm the only person in the universe who would have lost Switch? today.  I didn't think there was any way that trip could be that high.

Pathfinder was set up quite evilly yet again.  At least the path actually went to the outside of the board, though.

You know, I have no idea who Anthony Hamilton is...but he seemed excited about the showcase, and he read it well, and that's what's really important in that kind of a presentation.

Anthony Hamilton was a 10 on the "who?" factor for me, but he was a great participant, delivering his lines well above average for a showcase guest. I'm always amused how the audience is practically forced into a standing O for whatever guest they get, no matter if they deserve it or not. Again, I got to like Anthony by the end of his segment, but I bet he was just as unknown to the studio crowd, and the standing O was a little less than genuine.

I wonder if anyone was going to mention that. It was the start of a pretty good show. And considered it a mighty fine birthday present.
