This was the worst playing of Money Game I've seen in a long time.

The only thing more bizarre about Magic # than its setup was the fact that it was still almost won.  Has anyone ever set the magic number that high before?

Lucky $even was actually winnable for once.

I have a mixed view of Magic #. It's true that the winning range was higher than you typically see for the game. On the other hand. for people who watch the show, they'd should know that the saunas are pretty expensive so they should go high. And except for the inflatable portable hot tub, hot tubs tend to cost more than the low item on Magic # usually is. So I think it's not so bad if your a semi-regular viewer who can withstand peer pressure.

Right.  From frequent viewing I know the "nice" hot tubs are around $8000, and the cheezy inflatable one they have sometimes is about $2000.  That's only how I thought to guess $4000.  I had no idea how much the sauna cost, even though it's been on dozens of times - usually it's in a showcase so it's hard to casually pin down an exact price.
I apologise in advance.

Boy oh Boy, that was a "Genius" playing the Money Game.  "What was she thinking"?...my answer:  She clearly can not think.  Hence her $1 bid in Contestants Row.  She had no business in Studio 33.  Paint-Fabric protection almost always end in an "8".

In The Bag got evil towards the end.

Pick A Number or Pick A Square as my daughter calls it, it is what it is, a necessary evil due to the time constraints of the show these days.

Magic Number:  Steve and others experts, correct me if I'm wrong BUT isn't that the "most expensive prize package" ever offered during the daytime version of the show?  Usually, if you sent the magic # between $2100-$2300, you are a winner.

Cliff Hangers:  WOW, someone actually has a brain and knows how to play this game.  20 30 40 who do we appreciate?

Lucky 7:  She was winnable today for once but wasn't won.

Did I actually see someone with a video camera in the audience when Shannon was celebrating her $1000 win?

Yes, a-r-t, it does seem like Drew is dropping hints about how the prices ascend in Cliff Hangers, as when he said "It all comes down to math." Does imply that the prices increase.  And thanks to Bhen for bringing his piano.
We'll think of a signature. Don't worry.

What Drew and a-r-t were referring was the range rather than the progression of prices. For the last item in Cliffhangers, the contestant had a $20 cushion to work with. It doesn't matter whether he gets the price exactly right. All the matters is that he's within $20. So what he should be doing is figuring out what $40 encompasses all the best possible prices. He guessed $25, which means he wins for any price between $5 and $45. I think Drew was justifiably concerned because the contestant covered some ridiculous prices but left some feasible prices uncovered. There's no way that gift basket would've been in the $5 to $9 range, but a price in the $46 to $50 range seems possible. So it would have been better to guess $30 to cover the $10-$50 range. Even covering $15 to $55 may have been better than covering $5 to $45. Of course, he won anyone. But it's was a bit of sub-optimal strategy.

I don't think so. I re-watched the episode online, and it seems to me that the woman in yellow (she's partially covered by the third zero in the picture below) is holding a black brochure or something like it.

Is that what you thought was a video camera, Robair?
