The problem with the second showcase today is that the whole basketball theme took away from the fact that they were offering an INFINTI!!!  These are nice, nice cars!  Rolling it out the way they did took away the specialness, and I'm not sure the contestant knew they were bidding on anything different that a Ford.

Having luxury cars on the show sporadically is great.  But not propping up their specialness takes way from it.

"Earthquake" during Now...or Then aside (one of the dumber things ever....was that a DiPirro fail or Drew?), another strong show. In general, I highly approve of this week and am glad some of the easier setups carried over to today (particularly in 5 Price Tags and with a semi-El Cheapo being correct in Money Game.) Just a very fun show to watch today. Has anyone noticed that lately Drew has been spending less time making fun of prizes and more fun interacting with contestants? That plus the setups getting a bit easier makes things more fun to watch.

And that 2nd showcase wasn't TOO dumb, I guess, although having that many cheerleading squads was a little silly. But it worked. What was silly was that the trip and sportcourt were about $10,000 each, again making that Infiniti near-impossible to win.

Squeeze Play, TTM and ORP take a week off this week! (and in favor of the underplayed Coming Or Going in Squeeze's case, too.) Yay that!

Timings:
5 Price Tags (5.5) - 4:58
Coming Or Going (3.5) - 3:00
Shopping Spree (4.5) - 4:28
Now...or Then (5) - 5:15
Money Game (4.5) - 4:41
Pick A Number (3.5) - 3:18
Total time (26.5): 25:40

Ladies and Gentleman this week we have seen a few things that I believe hasn't happened in quite sometime, probably even since the Roger setups in early Season 37. This week, I kid you not, we had 14 pricing game winners! 13, depending on where you stand with Plinko.

Plus it was really odd to see for the last 2 shows that 1 showcase on each show was $60,000+!

5PT- The price tags for the car seemed really tough to me. I even only got the last 2 SPs right. Thankfully she got all 4, which is a rarity itself.

Coming or Going- with the staff always wanting play quickies I'm really surprised they've decreased Coming or Going's amount of playings.

Now or Then- Hey a winner!

Shopping Spree- That was actually a toughy. But hey she won a doughnut. ;)

Money Game- Another thing I believe we haven't seen since the Roger setups, the return of OL' EL CHEAPO! I don't think I've ever been so excited to see El Cheapo.

Pick-a-Number- I knew she should've went with the 8.

I thought the showcases were good today too.

I'll give today an A+

I don't see how the wrong pricing in Five Price Tags could have resulted in a technical win unless she had said "True" for that prize. If she didn't win the car, the price of $125 was false either way. Even if she had said "True" I think it's a little iffy, considering the real price was even further from $125 than the one that was loaded into the prop, but it would probably still be enough to warrant a technical win regardless.

Drew shaking Now....and Then was kinda dumb.  All it did was make it look like they had a wobbly camera.

Yay for Kathy actually using El Cheapo!

The second showcase was...well...it was there.  There's really not much more to say about it.

This really has been a good week, even with some of the weirdness that went on yesterday.

I really don't see why...regardless of what the actual retail price was, it wasn't $125, and that was all she was guessing about.

I think Barker would refer to an El Cheapo as a number on the board that starts with a 0. But 10 is close enough for me, especially since it turned out to be the winning number. I kind of miss hearing the "El Cheapo" term. I don't think Drew ever mentions it.

Now or Then was super easy, even with the "earthquake" - but I would have lost most of the other games.

Perhaps you, or anybody else who believes this, can explain something to me.  Why is it bad strategy to bid $1 more than the previous contestant if you're not the last contestant bidding?

Remember, the only viable bids for the last contestant are $1 or $1 more than what a contestant ahead of them bid.  If you $1-up somebody, that reduces the number of possibilities for the last contestant to bid, since they can't $1-up the person you $1-up'd.  They can only bid $1, $1-up you, or $1-up the other contestant that you didn't $1-up.  Thus, if you $1-up somebody, there's a 33.3% chance you will get $1-up'd, as opposed to a 25% chance if you don't.

Besides, most average people just think $1-upping someone who just $1-up'd someone else is a hoot, and will do it with zero regard to whether or not it's a good idea.

Very good show, very good week.

The setup difficulty levels are returning to normal. Drew is ok. Production values, set, creative and up-to-date prizes continue to be great. Number of trips decreased (thankfully).

Bring back more classic music cues, and I could get used to this.

Has Fingers turned nice all of a sudden? This is the second show in a row with lots of wins because of very favorable setups. I sure hope this trend continues.

I especially enjoyed the video that played during the description of the Final Four trip... wonderful memories. :-)

Props to the staff for picking three of the Final Four teams correctly... even if they weren't necessarily trying to, that's pretty darn amazing.

Trip to Sydney - $18,098

Wow! That's an expensive trip. Taxes on that would be at least $8,000. I'd rather book my own trip to Sydney. I'm sure I could do it for less than $8,000.

I'm wondering what's been happening too suddenly. I mean we had an easy setup with both Punch-a-Bunch and Plinko, the 4th price was the correct one in That's Too Much!, El Cheapo returned, etc. Me wonders if CBS and/or Fremantle collected all of the results from the survey that some of us fans took and they told Mikey and Kathy what the problems were and to fix them.
