Just in case anybody is curious what's in Mock Turtle Soup (featured in the Grocery Game):

I'm more curious what's in mock rabbit soup.

thewhammy_2000: Did Drew or Scott mention anything about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Not too much. The big focus was on the turtle soup and the (Turtle Wax) during the break.

Double Prices: For the audience, the price choices were also plastered on the back of the game so they can play along.

Whammy, how were the audience-facing prices rendered? Were they duplicates of the tags we see on screen, or were they crude cue cards taped to the back of the prop?

One Away: I was looking around to see if I could see the Mighty Sound Effects Lady, but I couldn't. Hearing those horns rocked the studio. Unfortunately, the decision to change the price was a hard one, and the worse thing is that after play, Drew told Kelsey that he could see the 5 before it was revealed.

You could.

I'm watching in Hi-Def on a 42 inch TV, and when they revealed the first number in the prize, you could see a hint of the blue #5 in the second price.

It probably wasn't viewable from the audience, but onscreen at home, or anyone standing next to the game could see which way the wind was blowing for that second number before the reveal happened.

As much as I hate to say it...that's another reason for the show to switch to digital displays right there.

Think of all the times the 'cover' has failed to actually cover the price for games like Ten Chances, Grand Game, and Golden Road...

Can't forget Penny Ante.

Penny Ante is a game I'd love to see rebuilt with modern technology and unretired.

I rewatched this episode today. Indeed, in One Away, I could see the tip of the blue 5 after the first digit was revealed. And I think the contestant could see it too. After the first digit was revealed, she started shaking her head as if to say, "No, I don't have it."

The way to fix that would be to make the bottom of One Away an LCD display.

They could probably still have the sliding back effect on the monitor, but it wouldn't give the numbers away.

You'd have to keep the old fashioned trilons up top, though.

Using slightly smaller numbers would work, too.

The current One Away board wasn't really designed for five-digit cars when it was built...the reveal can handle a 1 for the first digit without difficulty, but trying to add a dollar sign when the first digit is 2+ makes the reveal a little too crunched, and sometimes numbers can peek out.
