Did they reveal the price of the car in 10 chances?  This sure does show how hard that game can be when there's no end in 0 rule.

Very interesting recap.  I'm surprised they used so many of the same games and prizes as Monday.

This wasn't the episode with the clip of the bar in the Janice Pennington Strife showcase, was it?  And did Bob mention anything about the show changing to an hour?  Also, was there the rule about the wheel having to go around at least once?

Has it ever actually been confirmed that this is the November 4, 1975 episode, or is that just assumed because GSN aired it the day after the November 3, 1975 episode or something like that?

Well, based on the observations I noted earlier, I'd question it too.

Correction: "The New Price i$ Right" wasn't on Tuesday November 4, 1975 due to  the Duration of The Carruthers Company-Warner Bros. 7-Arts Television show on CBS-TV called "GIVE-N-TAKE" starring Jim Lange on November 4, 1975 that had a New 1/2 Hour Broadcast of "GIVE-N-TAKE" through November 28. That's already postponed to Tuesday December 2, 1975 on CBS-TV for "The New Price i$ Right" for the appropriate 1st 1-Hour Show.

To put it nicely, bull.  Unless Price randomly went off the air or into reruns for four weeks, there most certainly was an hour-long show -- specifically, #1662D -- on November 4, 1975.  There's obviously something that's been missed about Give-N-Take's timeslot, but I assure you that nothing in that post is accurate.

EDIT:  And Jimmy Owen from Invision says that according to old TV Guides, Give-N-Take moved to 4:00 PM on November 3.  I'm not really sure how you got your "information," but it clearly didn't involve any actual research.

I was home, unemployed at the time, and saw Price on 11/4/75. It was an hour long, to be sure. Give-N-Take would indeed run its final month at 4 PM (where it was blacked out here).

The CBS second half shuffle of 1975, in a nutshell:
June 16
10 AM - Spin Off (new; replaces The Joker's Wild)
10:30 - Gambit
11 AM - Tattletales (new time; replaces Now You See It)
3 PM - The Price Is Right
3:30 - Match Game '75
4 PM - Musical Chairs (new)

August 11
10 AM - Spin-Off
10:30 - The Price Is Right (return to old time)
11 AM - Gambit (return to old time)
3 PM - Match Game '75 (new time)
3:30 - Tattletales (new time)
4 PM - Musical Chairs

September 8
10 AM - Give-N-Take (new; replaces Spin-Off)
10:30 - The Price Is Right (airs special week of hour-long shows; Gambit is bumped this week only)
3 PM - Match Game '75
3:30 - Tattletales
4 PM - Musical Chairs

November 3
10 AM - The Price Is Right (new time; hour long permanently)
11 AM - Gambit
3 PM - Match Game '75
3:30 - Tattletales
4 PM - Give-N-Take (new time)

December 1
10 AM - The Price Is Right
11 AM - Gambit
3:30 - Match Game '75 (return to old time)
4 PM - Tattletales (return to old time)

Okay, stupid question, to which I'm sure the answer is "no"...but do you happen to remember if it was this episode?

The only stupid question is the one never asked. ;)

And no, I don't recall if this was the episode. I can recall some specific dates of stuff I've seen, but this ep of Price isn't one of 'em. (It's quite hard to pick out an hour long episode out of over 5,000, even if it was the second one.)

Why would Price have a Thanksgiving showcase on Nov. 4, and then have another later in the month?

I've suspected for quite some time that this was only dubbed the November 4 show because GSN aired it the day after the November 3 show (or something along those lines).  This looks like pretty solid proof of that.  Thanks!

You're welcome! :-)  And here I thought you were aware of that. Now if we could just get Jim to answer some of my questions for the timeline's sake...unless you already know, Steve:

Were the Ten Chances answer cards still red? (I take it they were)

Did the opening use the Hour Power yet? (I'd assume not)

Which showcase podium did the top winner get?
