The problem was that even though they knew the car needed to be lost, they weren't afraid.

Or they were just too stupid to realize that playing a game that had a degree of luck involved was probably not the best idea?

Personally, if I don't want something to be won, we're playing Check-Out with crap nobody has ever heard of.

Dice Game really should have been won... a 1 following another 1 is pretty evil.

So, if the car that got replaced in the showcase was worth $225 more than the GTO, how much should we bet the replaced car was a nice "We need this lost" luxury car?

They believed they had the game set up in such a way that it wouldn't be won.

Stupid, yes...but the fact remains that they weren't afraid.

A different, less expensive version of the table in showcase two was used.

Perhaps the producers' logic for offering the classic GTO in a game that can't all-but-guarantee a forced loss is that even if the car is won, the contestant will likely decline it. Sure it looks pretty, but unless the contestant has a thing for classic cars, it really is one of the most impractical prizes to win. Taxes aside, maintenance & insurance alone wouldn't be cheap. Alternatively, she could always turn around and sell it to some collector, but even that sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

Call me crazy if you want, but if I were in her shoes--and got all 5 cards, I'd have said "I'll take the money, Drew." Before Lanisha had finished putting the last card into place. Maybe that's what the producers were kind of hoping for too.

I was playing along and I would have won only one additional card, on the last small prize.  I would take $3,000 without question, because I know my chances of winning are slim and because $3,000 isn't exactly chump change.  Also, I probably wouldn't have chosen the same cards as her.

Weird.  I would have won the first two but not the third.

Then again, I wasn't being serious and just guessed $30 for everything.  :)

Also, the odds of winning with three cards are nowhere near as slim as you'd think.  Well over 1-in-3, if I remember correctly.

Hole in One won (from the furthest line) for a Bently and now this?  SOMEBODY over in TVC must be getting one heck of a lesson from this.  Or not.  Next week will probably be a $40000 car won in Stack the Deck.
