Kitch, I didn't know they were airing shows taped 10 years into the future.  :P

*groan* Somebody change that please.

-995 should be recognized by all people as a common retail price ending.

But on the other hand, Squeeze Play as of late has had some deceptive setups that might make you think the answer is obvious (i.e. a -995) when really it isn't. And as soon as you start taking that institution away, it just becomes a guess. I don't blame the contestant for losing, but I suppose $7,955 was kind of a silly choice. I personally had chosen $7,595 even though $7,995 seemed like the obvious choice.

Also, it was great to see the $2.00 show up in Pocket Change after a long absence. Someone mentioned recently that the dollar amounts are written on the backs of the envelopes; did Drew see the $2.00 from the start and deliberately reveal the amounts in reverse order?

Gotta wonder how Mike Richards liked today's show...because I enjoyed it!

And Kev, I agree. I hope they just continue to drive the budget even deeper down the hole!

Just wondering if anyone else thought Steven looks like Tim Meadows in his SNL days, or was it just me?

All I want o say is this could have EASILY been a perfect show. That Squeeze Play was practically a gimme, and she didn't see it. The audience did, but unfortunately this is one of those games where you can't easily make a change...

Wow, what a good show!  Lots of wins, Drew had some decent moments (the way he hosted Bonkers is the way he should be hosting every single act of every single show)...the only real downer was the two-prize second showcase, which stood out rather jarringly from the rest of the episode.

How did they manage to get a five-out-of-sixer despite the only game that was blatantly set up for a win being lost?

...they actually offered a $13,000 car?  Wow.

Why do post-production if you don't have to?

A question the current staff should take some time to ponder!

Yikes. Not only did I not realize that the car was $13,000... I didn't even know they made cars that cheap anymore!

At least they didn't go for the most basic Accent you can buy, which only costs $10,190, including destination charges.  It has absolutely no frills at all!

The first car I bought new was a Hyundai Accent, about 12 years ago.  It cost $8,888, which would be cruel for Any Number.

When was that? The most basic Accent I can find is $13,645.

There's an even more stripped down model called the "Blue."  It's only available as a three-door hatchback, and its only option is air conditioning.  It should be on Hyundai's website.

Some part of me wishes they had incorporated the blocks from Easy as 123 in the first showcase...

So somebody on yesterday's recap thread asked me if I wanted them to drive the budget further under and go into debt. The answer to that question is yes, I do - they've mismanaged their budget badly and now they can pay the consequences. And boy did they ever pay the consequences today. :)

And that question was asked by me. Why do you want to see the budget suffer? Is it so that they can realize what they're offering is bad prizes and that they should stick to old-used remedies? Or should they be looking for modern alternatives (whether it's prizes or the way pricing games are set up) that are acceptable for game shows so that they don't appear rigged.

(Yes, I will continue to use the 'R' word, whether some like it or not. I have no other way to clean up my sentences.)

Why do post-production if you don't have to?

I think the most appropriate question is, why is it necessary for the show to remain uncut and unedited, as if it were a commercial-free show. Every game show is supposed to fit under a specified time limit, the average being 30 minutes. PIR has been the only game show where they screw the rule and allow the show to run beyond 60 minutes, even though CBS has local news to report and promotions to run in order to cover the airwaves.
