So according to Rich's copy, "one of life's great pleasures is relaxing with a glass of wine". Perhaps, but to me this is another instance of going beyond a TV-G rating.
The FCC's official meaning for a TV-G rating is "Although this rating does not signify a program designed specifically for children, most parents may let younger children watch this program unattended. It contains little or no violence, no strong language and little or no sexual dialogue or situations." A passing mention about drinking a glass of wine is no big deal on a program targeted to adults that kids can watch. It's gonna be okay.

Would someone explain to me why the wine-themed showcase and the showcase containing the trip to France were not the same showcase?

That would have made a lot of sense, rather than the jarring switch from wine to beer. "Yeah, if you're a real wino, then we're gonna send you somewhere you can enjoy a tall, cool glass of ... beer." Oh, like Germany? "No, Ireland." Ummm, okay.

That was a piss-poor segue.

And, as a budget saver (and maybe the newest pricing game): Two Trips for the Price of Zero, or more accurately, two trip showcases. Drew always mentions "You're going to ..." when a trip showcase is won, and I always think, yeah, likely not.

And that grill--while something that I would personally want--seems like a rinky-dink prize for the show, over-inflating its "value" by throwing in an overloaded A&P gift card. And for one? When I was single, I lived on 10¢ Ramen. That's like $1,200 a year not including beer money. (Wow, this post came full circle!)

Thanks for the clarification. I do think a statement like the one Rich read calls for some "PG", parental guidance.

Grand Game:  I figured the coffee would nail Hale!
Any Number:  Too bad Veronica didn't win the car, but at least she didn't win the piggy bank.
Shell Game:  Nice to see this one again, too bad it wasn't won.
Showcases:  Ho hum.

Not too good overall, IMHO.

Same reason you're driving to Disneyland Paris.

/Worst showcases in a very long time.
They can be close at the top, too.

Because that would make sense.

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

Based off of your name on GR-net - is one of your parents watching with you?  I think it's a fair question.

The beginning of Grand Game was a rare complete fail by DiPirro.  I've never seen it revealed so awkwardly.

I like the new Any Number board less and less the more I see it.  It just seems like a cheap knock-off of the second one.

I think Orlando is the first person to play Coming or Going without tilting the board.

CAR FOURTH!!!  Seriously, that was beyond awesome.  It's been way too long since they've done it.

Also, SHELL GAME!!!  I was disappointed (but by this point, not surprised) that it wasn't for a third car, but still...it's Shell Game!

That might go beyond TV-G.  Rich's little line of enjoying a glass of wine is nothing.  Most doctors recommend it.

Wow, everyone's already said everything I was going to today. Just crappy show with very cheap feeling showcases.....another awkward thing about the 2nd one: "and now you can have fun on your road....on your trip!" Yeah, someone slap whoever decided that not putting a car after that was OK. And today was back on our losing track after yesterday. On the plus side, the lineup was awesome. Any car game 4th is awesome when they play it with the rare frequency they are now, so Cover was OK to see there, especially when we got Shell Game last! That was a nice break from the norm. Unfortunately, the results of the games were not.

Timings:
Grand Game (5) - 4:17
Any Number (5) - 3:35
Coming Or Going (3.5) - 2:43
Cover Up (5) - 4:10
One Right Price (3.5) - 3:24
Shell Game (6) - 4:44
Total time (28): 22:43

Yea... looked like someone failed! I was watching online and could see the GPT start rising up while Drew, Rich, and Hale were chatting (look at 2m19s) right when Rich was in the middle of a thought... then Rich noticed it went up and made the annoucement. To me it just looked like the GPT was raised prematurely... whatever happened, it was just weird!

My guess of the awkward Grand Game edit.. the witty banter between Drew, Rich and the contestant went a little longer than usual, and they had to cut most of it out, due to the spin off in the Showcase Showdown.
