I know jon was saying in chat that it looked like the showcase segment was heavily edited.

Well not a good show today. What were the total winnings for today's show? And El Skunko V: The Final Wipeout is the best title.
El Skunko: The Motion Picture
El Skunko II: The Wrath of Roger
El Skunko III: The Search for Drew
El Skunko IV: The Voyage Nowhere
El Skunko V: The Final Wipeout

This...pains me. This is right between "The Crash and Burn" (February 2006, billed by Joe as the first sub-$10k show since 1995) and "The Christmas Massacre" (December 2007, which was even worse).

My recap.

Once again, I enjoyed the show enough to not notice that everyone lost.  Though I was aghast at the contestant that didn't even bother to make a special shirt, but had a piece of paper taped/pinned to her regular tshirt, as if she'd made it while waiting in line.

For sure you're at least glad to see "Gas Money"?  I know for some reason most of you seem to be ga-ga for Gas Money.
I apologise in advance.

That's what ticks me off about today's show. Gas Money was winnable. It's a freaking Hyundai!

1/2 Off wasn't bad. The guy who played Rangey was an idiot, and most of us in the chatroom got it.

Cover Up and 1RP were kinda set up for losses. But there were some inexcusable bad plays. Especially on the showcases.

Guess they don't have to worry so much about the budget now.

I agree Kitch. Today's show was really fair all around.

1/2 really should have boiled down to 2 boxes, but at least she got it down to 4. Just bad luck there.

Range was easy. Dumb contestant.

Cover was difficult, but winnable IMO.

Hi-Lo was kinda tough.

Gas Money really should have been won. Like the new graphics though. Good work on the art dept's end.

ORP was meant to be lost.

Showcases...no comment. When the audience is SCREAMING a dollar or any bogus bid really would have worked. Gah! There's no point in really shooting for a DSW unless you are 100% confident you can zone within the $250 range, which is pretty slim.

Cover might've been won with the strategy, but Greco knows nobody uses it, so I say it was set up for a loss.

Personally, I think I would've stumbled upon the ending "62" while doing the strategy. :oldlol:

In that case yes. The "62" I thought was kinda obvious.

Call this a bad episode if you will, but looking at Kitch's recaps (good job so far, my man), it does appear that several of the games were fair and/or set up for wins. Just didn't happen.

Half-Off could have been won, even with four boxes, and most fair Range Game setups — such as this one — are set to win with a price somewhere in the middle. Gas Money could easily have been won by using one of the cheapest prices here, as $22,000 or $23,000 seems like a reasonable price for the Huyndai. Probably the only game that was really tricky was One Right Price (two prices close together), and possibly Hi-Low.

I've said it before on "skunking" shows, but it's not always the setup, as the contestants still have to play the game. Even with a "setup for a loss," a good contestant, or at least a knowledgeable one, can still have a good shot at winning.

You guys aren't looking at Gas Money right at all.

Rich emphasizes the Genesis is a SPORTSCAR. So of course the cheapest option on the board will be eliminated!
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Horrible show today.  I like the new Gas Money graphics, though.
