Step Up was somewhat tricky. The difficulty is that the chair and table may seem cheap in terms of utility. It's not a lot seating. But we've seen similar furniture that's high priced based on quality/look in spite of not providing a lot of seating area. But I do thinkt the cultery should have stood out as something cheaper, so there was an okay bail-out opportunity.

Of course, we all know about El Cheapo and Front and Back. Well, for today's Money Game, I'm making up a new trick. The Corner picks.

The corner picks sounds like a good strategy for Money Game.

When I was younger, I couldn't watch the show that much. One thing I did pick up on, though, was that, in a lot of playings of Money Game, the front of the car and the back of the car seemed to be adjacent to each other, either horizontally or vertically. Of course, this is late 90's/early 2000's. Does anyone know if that was just a fluke from the times that I'd watch the show, or was it set up like that regularly?

Pathfinder was played very well. I picked out $21,584 at the beginning of the game, and ALMOST swept it!

Step Up was really hard. I'm pretty sure that's lost by almost everyone, though probably not in the manner that it was today.

Check-Out was just awful. He overshot by a lot with the pasta sauce and candle (six dollars?!). My difference on this playing was $1.99. [wipes forehead]

Poor Ronald. He had such bad luck (and bad strategy) the entire show. He one-upped when he should have bid $1. He bid $1 when one-upping would have made him exactly right ($701). He ignored the audience member behind him who yelled out the exact price, when he really should have just bid $1201 in the first place. If you're going to guess between two bids, why wouldn't you one-up the lower bid to cover the entire range? As far as I'm concerned, if you're bidding last, which Ronald was seven times, you should be one-upping someone or bidding $1 every single time. I guess that's why he was one-third of near history.

Well, after yesterday's problems, today was interestingly one of those days where they just got it right. The lineup, presentation of prizes, and contestants were all great, and Drew was on point, even declaring a potential (and historically accurate) historic moment in OB6! The show was very fun to watch even despite having just the 2 wins at the top of the show. Interestingly, this was the 2nd show this week that started with wins in games 1 and 2 but then ended in four straight losses.

But man, one of those wins was a doozy. Pathfinder was set up as hard as it's ever been this season (and it's been winless this season), but somehow Jennifer managed to breeze right through it! Major props to her for winning that and giving Pathfinder its first win of the season. Between that and her perfect bid, she's one of the best contestants, gameplay-wise, I've seen on this show in awhile. It's a shame she had to overbid her showcase.

Check-Out REALLY should not have been lost like that though (it was actually a fairly easy setup). That was brutal!

Timings:
Squeeze Play (3.5) - 2:40
Pathfinder (6) - 7:01
Step Up (5.5) - 4:10
Double Prices (3) - 2:40
Money Game (4.5) - 4:25
Check-Out (5.5) - 5:01
Total time (28): 25:57

So after a long season of all cars ending in 4, so much so that Jennifer's friends were all begging her to pick it, they are now making 3 the magic number?

Wow, somebody actually won Pathfinder!

It's really too bad Mitchell won the last Item up for Bids...I wanted to see everybody come out of the same spot again.

Oh please, Barker used cue cards all the time, as well.

Barker did not use cue cards "all the time."  He used them on occasion if he had, say, a special promo to do.  He sure as hell didn't use them to throw to commercial after a Showcase Showdown!

I'm pretty sure that is wrong!

Change "in the history of the daytime show" to "in the history of the hour format," and it'd be true.

I'm still a bit confused on rather I can provide links to pages on Youtube, but the episode featuring the "excited Sarah" is on there (use that term to search it), and it looks to me as if someone is holding a cue card after the Showcase Showdown.

"Burbary" raingear? Is this the DOS version of TPIR, where the cut-rate version of the merchandise has a pun on the name?

Burberry is the luxury fashion house in England with the tartan patterns.

OK.  I was just going by what Bob and Drew said.

Very hard games today, but a good line-up!

Concerning Step Up, how many times in the games' history have all the prizes been won?  They are still doing way too many designer fashion items!
