See, everyone gets all nervous and twitchy for what ended up being nothing, since the main incident seemed to occur off-air. At least the substitute gave Greco a run in OA.

Also, 21915 = too far
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

So for someone who doesn't plan to actually watch it--what happened?

A contestant "fell ill" (Drew's words) after PG2 was taped. Her sister substituted for her in the green spot and eventually played PG5, but lost.

I think people thought the fainting and/or double call-on-down would be shown on-air, but since it did not occur it became very underwhelming.

Non-specificity and lack of information leading to 18 pages of speculation--all for something as simple as one contestant being substituted for another.

What a waste of time.

yeah. I thought it was something big like someone played plinko and beat the game by winning the maximum amount, but a substitute contestant? sheesh!

Well you know the spoiler policy is here, so any info before today could have meant banville, or the mods removing it.

So what's the point of having a TPiR Summaries and Spoilers section?

I don't recall anyone ever saying that the speculation was justified in the first place, so why is everyone surprised that the speculation ended up not being justified?

I don't get it it.

I think the point that jmangin and Grand_Game2004 were bringing was : Was it really worth creating a whole thread that went on for 18 pages just for that?!?

Well I know people were guessing for quite a while that it had something to do with gameplay even though steve pointed out it had nothing to do with gameplay or the prizes.  I know for a while I was wondering, but then when Nam told me a few weeks ago what had happened, my only thing to wonder was how it would play out on air.  But still, to have someone faint, then have their relative take their place, that is a first.

Why not just create a thread in the TPiR Summaries and Spoilers section and say "Spoiler for XX date/One contestant was substituted for another after a medical emergency (or whatever)"?

i thought they would have at least allowed a Bob/DOB of some kind by letting the contestant have as Drew calls them a do over  down the road or allow a very expensive parting gift ;)
