Bill comes out to applause, tells us that the current home sweepstakes winner will be announced,  and introduces the contestants:

* - The returning champ, back for her second appearance, is Carol Gershman, a housewife from West Orange N.J. who won last week with $17,486 in merchandise.

* - Rocko Craparotta is a carpenter from Brooklyn.

* - Ruby Baird is a housewife from Jackson Heights, N.Y.

* - Anthony Kochinski is an engineer from Metuchen N.J.

All players receive a gift package from the makers of AeroWax. First item up for bids: a wall unit called "The Bachelor's Unit". Walnut finish design with storage compartments and shelves. The left side houses a desk, manual typewriter and file cabinet, the right side stores an electric burner and chairs for the pull-out dining table in the center left. The screen doors on the center right storing a pull-out bed. Price authority: Dantomuro Furniture Corp., Linbrook, Long Island. (Bill cracks: "You call this a bachelor's unit...you can get further with this than you can with a hi-fi.")

Next item: A pair of children's roller skates, with 1-inch wheels and rubber ties, each containing 24 ball bearings. Designed for children ages 5 to 12. Price authority: Manning Manufacturing, Chicago. Demonstrating the skates is the famous Zip the chimpanzee, who had the audience rolling with laughter.

Mr. Craparotta opens anywhere; no minimums. As this is an very inexpensive item. the contestants may bid in dollars and cents (how it is shown below is how the bids were displayed):

Actual retail price: $6.00, with Mrs. Baird the winner, and she hit the bonus bell. While her little boy will enjoy the skates when he gets older (he was only 16 months old at the time of the show), Mrs. Baird will ride around in her new 1963 Chevrolet Impala sport coupe. Equipped with self-adjusting brakes, a 198-hp engine, power-glide transmission, white sidewall tires and super sport equipment package.

The current sweepstakes winner is determined. June and Toni draw postcards from the five rotating drums filled with random samplings of the sweepstakes entries. The postcards are posted on a board as Bill displays the price of the two Chevrolet cars, the Lanolin nail enamel and Schick hair dryer: $5703.65. The names drawn:

The TV is the Vista Mark VIII model; it includes a four-speed phonograph, lighted control AM/FM radio with dual-channel amplifier. Price authority: RCA Sales Corporation, Indianapolis, IN.

Actual retail price: $1200, with Mrs. Gershman hitting it on the nose, and she hit the bonus bell. For her bonus, Mrs. Gershman listens to a special recording of a song ("World On A String") in six cuts (in its proper sequence) with each cut performed by a singer. Mrs. Gershman writes down who she thinks the singer of each cut is. For each she correctly identifies she wins $100 in cash. The first she thought was Bing Crosby, and she was right. The second she thought was Teresa Brewer--it was Ella Fitzgerald. The third she said was Jerry Lewis--correct. Fourth she guessed Louis Armstrong--right again. Fifth: Frank Sinatra--correct again. Last: Dean Martin--it was Perry Como. But she did win $400.

Final item time: A Piper Colt 108 two-seater airplane. A compact deisgn with long range cross-country capabilities, it has a 108-hp light-homing dual ignition 4-cyliner engine, standard equipment and optionals, it has a baggage capacity of 100 pounds, goes 115 mph and gets 18 miles per gallon of fuel. Price authority: Piper Aircraft, Lockhaven PA.
