"Barker" Wall Question
« on: August 23, 2011, 12:00:39 AM »
Hey everyone,
I have a question with Mike makeing so many changes to the set if he was to change the "Barker" wall what would it look like?  This is what I came up with.

This is what it would look like in daytime.

And primetime.

What would your "Barker" wall look like?
That wasn't a showcase, that was an infomercial.

I really think this is more suitable for OILF.

DO you think they were a bit inspired by Blockbusters when they made it? Didn't it debut around 1982?

I kinda miss the Barker Wall-esque prize backdrops they used to have.  They would look nice in the Carey-era colors.

I remember those well as well.  Roughly when were they last used; I don't remember them being used much past 1987.  And when did the "classic" Barker Wall debut?

I think it was in 1982-83 or so when the hexagon Barker Wall bowed.

I know they were used until at least 1991 - I have an episode from then when they were behind a Volkswagen.  They had been painted blue, with traffic signs affixed to some of the individual panels.

I do distinctly remember the traffic sign backdrops, but had never made the connection until now.
