New TPIR Rat Race Music Idea
« on: October 16, 2011, 05:21:35 PM »
First I want to say if this should be in The Talk Is Right please move it.
This is my idea for Rat Race.  This uses the Supermarket Sweep theme when they race the rats.  I know they could never use this beaucse Sweep was on another network but I just thought the theme from Supermarket Sweep seemed cool for Rat Race.

That wasn't a showcase, that was an infomercial.

Uhhh....no. Doesn't work at all in my book. Leave the music for Rat Race as it is.

The tempo is a little too slow for a race themed game plus it sounds a bit too 90s.

The actual retail price is...

I love the Ruprecht-era Supermarket Sweep themes, but this just doesn't work. Speed it up a bit and increase the pitch, and you may have something good.
The above is my opinion and mine alone.

To answer your questions: yes, I am a guy and yes, I have a face. (I also have the occasional spurt of weirdness.)

I'll begin by saying, of all the things that need changing on the current program, the music during the "Rat Race" is not one of them.  If I had to change the music, I would use the "William Tell Overture" a la "Hurdles."  Of course, all the rats would have to be slowed down in order to hear enough of the "William Tell Overture" to warrant the change.

If you ask me, the current music is great, but I think an edit of the Head Clown (Switcheroo's think cue) could also work.

The faster music does fit better.

Probably a bit too high-pitched, but certainly better than the "untampered" portion you originally had. :)

What about if you could put the Switch music instead of supermarket sweep.

Doesn't work at all for Rat Race.

The last one would be good for a prize cue though.

Ooh! I have an idea!
(see post for video)

How did I know you picked that music before I even clicked on the video? :P

Still, I think no change in the Rat Race music is warranted. "Nifty Notes" fits the game perfectly.
