Barring the missing GP game, excellent lineup.

Yay! Spelling Bee second! This is the first time since May 10, 2010 that Spelling Bee wasn't played first. It's also the first time Spelling Bee was played second since June 18, 2008.

You know, Side by Side has been played way too much so far this season. 7 times compared to Double Prices' 4...yikes.

This episode could've easily been perfect. 2 for the Price of 1 wasn't hard at all (1? Really?) and One Away....FAIL. After the first go-through, they were pretty much handing him the car.

What happened in Spelling Bee today (the mix-up of the cards) is exactly why Drew needs to do the cards on his own.

Yay! Lazy Drew actually turned a trilon! And you know what, I think he would've made the situation funnier if he was doing the game right and turning them himself. :P

Yay! GPT action in One Away! Glad Dimich is keeping that.

This was the most DOB-like show in a good while - the lineup mixed things up and both losses felt pretty fair, not Mike-induced (not that everything was easy - Switch & OA were certainly not favoring wins) and even included a traditional dumbo in Raul. I didn't end up minding the DOB at the end thanks to the nice feel earlier, other than my CSS score. :P

I think Drew & Manuela awkwardly turning the other 4 cards in Bee was more reason than the mix-up, Guint, but yeah, that's something we have to live with now.

Side by Side is better than Double Prices, honestly, so I don't mind if it gets 30+ playings.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Nice to see Spelling Bee get won. And that double overbid in the showcase was painful.

If this was 5 years ago...we'd all be jumping for joy that Side By Side is being played more than Double Prices...what I'm surprised is that 2 For 1 has been played a lot, but I think the tape dates being switched around are the cause of that!

THe ARP of both prizes in 2 For the Price of 1 wasn't given today like it usually has been in recent years. I suspect it was the $5K Tahoe trip at that hotel seen in Freeze Frame recently(give or take a bit depending on what extras were/were not included in each trip), and not the $2K and change trip at that hotel seen in an IUFB last year(also 6 nights). $3K in swag in a pricing game is pretty cheap for MR these days.

Today show was great & Drew did a wonderful job today.
A Big Rich Fields Drew Carey And Jeff Davis Fan For Ever From Kirsten

Rich Fields Thanks Kirsten. I pick out and supply all of my own clothing. That light gray suit is hard to pair with shirts and ties... but I think the lavender shirt and purple patterned tie pulled it all together.

My Favorite Announcers On The Price Is Right Are Johnny Olson Rod Roddy Rich Fields Jeff Davis.

I Met And Took Two Pictures With Jeff Davis On May 24, 2012 He Is So Nice And Kind In Person.

Rich Fields said this about Drew Carey will always be the first to defend Drew (Carey). He's one of the most genuine, down to earth people in Hollywood that I've ever met. He was the first to come to me and tell me that the show was going in a different direction. He assured me it was not his decision to let me go and I believe him. No one else was open and honest about it, but Drew was. We've continued working together on different projects and we stay in regular touch. We'll be good friends well into the future.

Well, this was a really nice one overall. It was cool to see Spelling Bee out of 1st, and the first segment in general was just the strongest start we've had to the show in awhile. Mike getting beat on a trap Switch? as a nice quick start, and then Spelling Bee being played really about as well as it can be played - she stopped Mike on some tough SPs! I don't think Manuela has worked Spelling Bee much before; hopefully now she realizes that order is important. This could be another reason just to have Drew go back to it.

After that, things faded a little bit, especially with Raul in One Away. I joked a bit before the game that Mike was "going for a wipeout with $47,000", and then was shocked when he actually did make the first digit 4 on the Camaro - not sure if Mike was hoping for that or not. Of course, he almost ended up getting lucky anyways, but it's tough when all the nuts think it's 27 instead of 25. Still, we had a nice lineup today overall that justified the no GP, and relatively nice setups. I'm pretty sure that was yet another intentional DOB though - getting a little tired of those.

Timings:
Switch? (3.5) - 3:00
Spelling Bee (6) - 5:24
2 For The Price Of 1 (4.5) - 4:04
Side By Side (3.5) - 3:09
One Away (5) - 4:35
Shopping Spree (4.5) - 4:17
Total (27): 24:29

Very happy about Gary's second IUFB bid, we need more varietic bids instead of the usual -00. I'm mad at Caradi bidding one dollar more than him, though, I'm rooting for her NOT to get up stage.

...but she does and ruined a possible perfect show. That setup was kind of easy. I'm glad she lost the Showase Showdown.

Now... I wanted Gary to get up stage, but before I talk about that, I'll go to One Away. Raoul, just.... no. There's never repeating digits in the price, or at least that's what I've been told. It was a giveaway after that very flawed first attempt! And that first attempt, why the heck did you pick 4?

Good job by Gay in Shopping Spree, I just wished he went on to the Showcases. But at least Raoul didn't make it.

Switch?, Side By Side, Shopping Spree:  Nice wins! :-)
Spelling Bee:  Wow, got one of the two cards that say car and spelled car - awesome!
2 For The Price Of 1:  Rats! :-(
One Away:  Not very well played.
Showcase:  What a shame such a good show had to end with a double overbid.

Good show overall, IMHO.

Bee: Wins where the contestant didn't even have to play to win are always fun. Don't think they're going to bother having model assists for it in the future, though.

2 for 1: ::facepalm::

One Away: I know it's happened before, and someone will probably be in to point out when shortly, but I can't recall the last time a contestant got 1 number right and it wasn't the first digit. OK, it was the 2nd, but still. I worry that someone may try to option a Camero up to $40k sometime soon, though....

Spree: Would have won it, but I'll confess that I had the pricing of the jewelry and the iMac reversed. Then I remembered it was an iMac and not a Pro.

Showcases: "Mmm, chocolate... D'OH!!"

The Good: Awesome Spelling Bee playing, getting all the SPs, a CAR card and each of the letters! (Plus a second "R", the second-rarest thing she could have gotten for that fifth card.) The three other wins were nice, too.

The Bad: 2 for the Price of 1 could have been played better, and the DOB was painful.

The Ugly: Raul, Raul, Raul. If Spelling Bee was an A+ playing, Raul's would be an F. First, thinking the car was $45K+, then making three of the numbers 7...

Also, I'm not really liking having the car audio system as an IUFB that is not 3rd or last, since when it shows up, it's way too obvious that the next game is a car game. It's fine if it's the last game of that half and it's already obvious that the car game is next, but putting it earlier doesn't sit well with me.
