Temptation: I can't believe Michael broke the nearly five-year winless streak in this Pricing Game like that- I was so not expecting him to change that second digit & then go on!!!

Pushover: Easy.

Pl!nko: What luck for Francine!

NoT: Ian obviously wasn't a LFaT.

ORP: I thought Debra lost when she chose the surfboard.

TTM: I was surprised Crystal came that close to winning at this after saying "one more" starting at the fourth price.

Showcases: I had a bad feeling a DOB would occur just before the final break, but I wasn't expecting it to be by that little.

It started out great in the first half, but it went downhill from there.

Wow, our first win in Temptation in the Carey era! Way to go, Michael, on breaking the game's roughly five year losing streak!

I hope everything is OK by the end of the day, Kitch...

I'll let Temptation speak for itself... I will say, though, that as Mike gets rebutted in attempting to overplay some of these traditionally harder car games, if he could step back. Maybe it's a coincidence of tapedates, but Temptation is certainly not a 3-week game (5734, 64, 92) and was slightly underplayed even last year. It started off as 6-week (5673, then 5734) as usual too. I only bring this up because Gas Money is exhibiting the same behavior too, and today was a 0-car setup.

Ian would have been a poor contestant in any game, but he really made NoT a spectacle. Funfetti is already expensive at 2.49, so I can't say I understand the loss, but I wasn't surprised he blew it after circumnavigating the board.

As I alluded to already, it was a 0-car setup, and TTM was unfortunately back to its hardest side (aren't you glad Ian lost? Crystal made it close, but relying on this for a 6/6 purists notwithstanding would have been fool's gold), as well as a usual car over SC. Debra overdid Australia though, and despite the sexed up jewelry and/or mansion Long Island, we do get a double three-digit over. The timing could have been a lot worse for the DOB, and Drew actually hosted this pretty well relative to other DOBs.

This has been a very surprising string of shows after hitting an awkward bottom at the end of last week, but a truly all-women motif show approaches...

FOUR YEARS, 10 MONTHS, 27 DAYS, 40 PLAYINGS

FINALLY

I just want to bring this to light....

//Season 40 will be the year Temptation makes a comeback. I'm calling it.

This show was great from the moment this game was won.
I could see the Now or Then loss from a mile away. I knew he'd back off saying "Now" after he had said it so many times. Oh well.
That's Too Much was once again a close call. Ouch.

And then....HUGE OUCH in the showcases. A double heels. Wow. I thought it was a double over but not like that. Man.....that has to be one the closest DOBs in recent memory.

Another 4/6er, just a great show all around.

WHOO!! Thank heavens Temptation has finally ended its streak of losses!

I even had a hunch he'd change the 7 to a 9.

Richards must be breathing fire by now.  :-D

As soon as Temptation was won, I decided that the rest of the show could be all losses and a double overbid and the show would still be awesome.

Then we get two more straight-up wins and a Plinko $10K+ "winner" on top of that! (I find it interesting that Drew called the Plinko player a "winner"; he's obviously not a purist.  :P )

Now... or Then was played by someone who had no idea what he was doing. Although, I could potentially see an LFaT who knew about 4 Nows/2 Thens to have gone for the kettle corn to ferret out another Then, at which point the game would have been a gimme for them. But, of course, Ian was nowhere near an LFaT...

And it turns out there was a double overbid... and a particularly painful one, too. Ah well. I suppose the fact that both of them were so close in going over was interesting, though... still a tough way to close out a rather historic day for the Drew Carey era.

Temptation winner!!!!

Now or Then was a disaster.  Clearly the contestant doesn't know what the word adjoining means.

What a close showcase round too.  What a shame that two very close bids ended up being over.  On a side note, does it bug anyone else that Drew says "double-over"?  This bugs me more than most of the things he says (or doesn't say).  He makes it sound like someone curled up and fell down.  The proper term is "Double Overbid", which sounds completely different.

Overall a fun show to watch with quite a few wins thrown in as well.

Uh, No, it doesn't bug me in the least. Maybe because I don't pick nits about things like that?

Did you notice he also says "You're over" instead of "You have overbid on your showcase" when the ARP is revealed?

Interesting show today, for at least a few reasons. First, nice win in Temptation, which I would have lost (by choosing a "7" for the second digit). The set-up/choices weren't as difficult as they could have been. It's been a while since I've seen something besides "5" or "0" for the last digit.

Second, Now or Then. After winning the one-bid prize with a bid of $120, Ian proceeds to say "higher" during the game, and then time is wasted by not going to the cake mix after getting the popcorn price wrong. I'm pretty sure Bob would have suggested going to the cake mix long before Ian finally did.

Third, so close with the showcase bids! Both of them.

Finally the moment we've all been waiting for has arrived: a win at Temptation!  Now only a daytime playing of Golden Road has yet to be won during the Drew Carey era(excluding a $25,000 win at Punch a Bunch since in Season 36 somebody won $10,000 back when it was still top prize).  Shame the showcases had to end the way they did as they both had some good stuff in them.  Also with having 3 wins in a row at Gas Money, could Temptation possibly have a win streak coming too?
