New Facebook Game: Slots
« on: March 02, 2012, 09:17:45 PM »
Wednesday Ludia released its latest Facebook game: The Price Is Right Slots. Not too shabby, I think.

http://apps.facebook.com/playtpirslots

Features different "machines" based on different pricing games. Currently, Cliff Hangers, Shell Game, and 3 Strikes are available, with Race Game, Plinko, Let 'Em Roll, Safe Crackers, and Secret "X" all "Coming Soon".  Includes some Rich Fields as well as some other announcer.

Seems interesting... maybe it's just me, but, I had a problem with the game freezing up occasionally.

It's a pretty nice game, though I prefer the actual Facebook game.  I'm glad this game uses the 1972 theme song.

Just starting playing the Cliffhangers machine. Too bad these aren't real slots, they're better than most of the stuff in the casinos.

Holy toledo, addicting as heck. Just had a stroke of great luck: I'm down to my last 200 or so chips, playing the Cliffy machine, get the Big Wheel Bonus. THEN, I get 10X the value (the $1 equiv space) on my 2nd bonus when I get my 3rd Cliffhangers token, which gets me the slot's namesake minigame on a 10X bonus to start!

All three tokens (you pick one of the 3 as a base amount that will later be multiplied) had 15 as a multiplier. In Cliffy, you pick one of 5 boxes (think of them like SPs), the higher you go is better, each gives a different multiplier depending on when Hans stops. Each box has either a 3, 5, 10, 15, or 20 behind it, which is also how many steps Hans moves up- when I saw it, I thought of how much you miss each SP by in the real show, which is what it really amounts to.

You get a 20X bonus if you stop at 5-9 or fall off the mountain, 50X from 10-14,  75X from 15-19, 100X for 20-22, 125X for 23 or 24, and 1000X for getting exactly 25.

I got super lucky and get to the 24th step, so 125X that 15 coin amount, in addition to TIMES 10 for the Big Wheel Bonus, giving me a 1,250X multiplier for that bonus spin alone (and I still had two Bonus Spins!). And just when I thought I'd have to get out my card to buy more chips, this happens.

These are very fun and addicting to play. However, it seemed like they were paying out left and right, until I went to the Shell Game machine. It seems like the Cliffhangers machine pays out better than the Shell Game, it was also annoying how Shell Game was played. They give you a number and you have to pick Higher or Lower, they don't tell you the range of the numbers or anything, it's just a blind guess! Then for each you get right you get a chip, and if you're wrong, you get 20x, which is the same multiplier you get when Hans falls off the Cliff.

To add to ridiculous bonuses:

I've played the 3 Strikes bonus twice so far, and both times I've struck out. Why, you ask?

The game has a huge flaw, it actually makes you play 3 Strikes, but doesn't even tell you what Car you are playing for or anything! It just tells you what numbers are going into the bag! You have to blindly guess!

The first time I drew a X, then a 9, placed it last, was correct, then 2 X's. The second time I drew an X, then a number, placed it wrong, another number placed wrong, then 2 X's in a row!

I would be very interested to see if anyone won, because it seems like you would win a ton of tokens if you do, (IIRC The first time the board was $87,159, not sure if you would win 87159 tokens, but I'm assuming so.)

Just to add to my previous comment about the game freezing...I managed to get the mountain climber to the top of the mountain earning me x1000 payout... and the game freezes.

Yeah, that made me wonder if they'd mention Tom, Dennis, Bill, or Doug.

No it didn't.  You knew they wouldn't.

Pointing out a couple bugs:

1. If you win any amount of tokens, and while it is counting your winnings, you hit the lobby button, you will hear an infinite loop of the win sound until you spin again on any machine.

2. Even after Race Game has been unlocked, it sticks in the "Next Slot Machine" window. I'm assuming that this has to do with Race Game and the next few games not being implemented/finished yet. (See Below:

I tried the Cliffy machine just now. It's fun but I blew all my chips.  :oldlol:

I tried searching for this on FB and it didn't appear, so I used the link in this thread.

Now I know why it didn't show up in the search...the bleepin-bloopin thing won't run, all I get is the splash screen and a rotating asterisk in the corner!! >:-(
