history !

This episode goes down in history because it marks the debut of ROOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDD RODDY as he was selected as the permanent replacement for the late Johnny Olsen, who sadly passed away back in October 1985.  Just a few short years after Rod made his debut on "TPiR", he would soon make a trademark for the show w/ his wildly and sparkly colored jackets and even back in the early days, contestants would show up in sequined jackets just like Rod !  Rod lived life to the fullest as he enjoyed a 17 year run as announcer on the show and he sadly passed away in October 2003 at the age of 66 after battling both colon and breast cancer.
Rod left us w/ so many special memories and that's what made him stand out as a fan favorite and we love and miss him dearly.
